Have had these fans in years passed. They are great. Just purchased two new fans, because I wore out the other ones afters years of use. They pull in the cool air from outside with no problems. I run them all night during the summer. Just place them in front of my screen doors and cool my house. You won't be disappointed.

Great fan anytime!

Riding2Heaven September 11, 2012

I purchased this fan online and it came 2 days later. After using small fans (10" or smaller) for the past few years, I decided that I needed a larger fan... I use the fan in a room that's about 10' x 20' ft and it easily circulates the air through the whole room. I needed this fan as it has been unusually hot here in the city.... I will be using it to cool the room when drying clothes as well as circulating air during cooking and just about everyday for ventilation purposes. Though the listing says "whisper quiet", I must say that it is Not. There is a low hum and it get's louder on each higher setting. But I still had to give this fan 5 stars because even with the hum it can be a good thing as the humming sound can block outside noise as well as help me sleep. And the fact that it does it's job on circulating and cooling very well. And with this low price, I think every household should have one of these.

Good Box Fan Motors With Care and Maintenance

product2review December 13, 2013

Lasko is a product definitely worth reviewing. I have two Lasko Weather Shield Box Fans from Walmart; one is a 2008 Model Yr. and the other I bought is a 2011 Model Yr. (See Photo) I bought the second one because I thought the 2008 model was going to quit working eventually, but it is going to be 2014 and my 2008 model is still going strong. They are really good fans except for the plastic feet that come with them. The plastic feet are not worth using. These fans have a really STRONG AIR FLOW and will FALL OVER when turned on. Because of the STRONG AIR FLOW they have to have some kind of a foot-base that is sturdy and durable to keep them from falling over; for them to be long lasting. They have to have regular maintenance of cleaning the motor from dust with an air can, applying oil to the spinner, and keeping the blades clean to keep getting an extra- strong air flow. If your unit is like mine you can make a foot-base for it and make a handle, if the handle should break over time (See Photo). Just make sure that the foot-base extends out in the front 1 inch; and extends out in the back 2 inches; (See Photo) then it won't tip over when you turn the unit on the HIGH setting . You can attach that base to the metal frame, and then to 2-pieces of cut out plywood for each foot on the inside of the fan; screw or bolt the three together (foot to frame to plywood); then hot glue the bolt on the inside so it doesn't come loose. You can do the same for the handle, then this fan is completely durable for back and forth movement from window to floor, room to room, indoors/outdoors where ever, and it wil not tip over if the base is made like the picture. My care and maintenance of my Lasko Fan has helped with the performace of this product and the longevity. I would buy a Lasko fan again and if something was wrong with a Lasko fan that I purchased, I would return it and buy another Lasko. The motors have proven to me to be a quality product in my 2008 Model having been run nearly 24 hours a day until I bought my 2011 Model. So for 4 years my 2008 Model I would say ran at least 20 hours a day for 4 years circulating air, cool in the summer; warm in the winter. I did not open my 2011 model for a year waiting for the 2008 model to quit. Then I needed the other one. They both work better than any household fan I have ever seen. I still don't understand how that 2008 Model could still be running with no problems; I use it every single day, not as much now that I have the other one but, I am really proud of my Lasko Fans. Both fans run like the day that I bought them. I plan on buying a small Lasko Fan with a remote control to help cool my computer in the future.

Lasko Box Fan

luvtheazsun November 3, 2012

I had the same product for 8 years. I ran the fan practically every day to keep the air circulated in my living room as live in Arizona, and not possible to open windows in the heat. A friend borrowed it for a day when her AC wasn't working and when returning it, dropped it on my patio. It made a slight noise after that so decided to replace it. Great fan.

Quiet fan

BiscottiDave August 27, 2013

I had purchased a Lasko 3723 a few years ago. When I went to the same store, they were selling the model 3733. However, it was much noisier, so I returned it. Searching I found that Walmart is one of the few stores that carry the slightly more expensive 3723 model. However, the noise level of the 3723 is much lower it is worth the extra few dollars. And it allows me to to keep the fan on all night without being bothered by noise.

Quiet, effective box fan

brighteyedgirl July 13, 2013

I've only had this fan for a couple of weeks now. I bought it because it can get very warm on the top floor of an apartment building during the summer. Our last box fan was extremely noisy and didn't seem to be super effective. Can you still hear this one running? Yes. But I can attest to this fan being significantly more quiet than a typical, cheaper box fan. I'm not sure why, but it is. After reading other reviews, I decided to try and place the fan in the window, turning the fan facing outside during the hottest parts of the day, hoping to expel the hot air inside and at the same time, not push more hot air inside. Doing that made it so much cooler during the day! Then at night, I would turn the fan towards the inside so it blew the cool air in. So I think my success with this fan is partially contributed to the fan but also to this new technique. I don't know why I didn't try it before. This fan works great if you're on a small budget.

Quiet at high speed. Love it.

SanDiegoDude February 7, 2013

I need a decent fan to circulate air in my large work shed. I needed it to be quiet and one of the reviews said this fan was quiet. Thankfully and so far, it is very quiet and strong enough to do what I need. So it appears to be a good fan at a good price (say this for $5 more on Amazon).

This fan is used 24/7 in our home and moves air quite well. I am very satisfied with the value of this fan.

I've had my old Lasko fan for close to 15 Yrs. Loaned it out, and took it camping etc. Hope this one is just as good. This one moves the air a lot better than the old, but I guess, new is better

Not quiet - no more air

Dakota166 May 23, 2014

Advertised with special design, more air flow, quieter, but put side by side with an older cheaper model that I was replacing and there was no measurable difference in either. Spent twice the money. Not worth the extra cost. Go with the cheaper model.
