Lavender has been well researched in double blind studies and has been found to be effective for general anxiety. It does seem to work on me without side effects associated with other medications, no habit forming. The item is also at a reasonable price.

my doctor recommended taking 80mg lavender capsules before bed to aid in helping me fall asleep and get back on an 8hr sleep schedule. I have taken the last 6 days and yesterday and today were the first 2 days in awhile that I felt tired enough to go to fall asleep AND woke up much earlier than I have been without any alarm

This does seem to have a calming effect, so I take it at night. I sleep deeper, and don't feel groggy the next day. I do burp lavender, but I don't mind. At least the scent isn't unpleasant. I've noticed no other negative side effects. Pills are fairly small and easy to swallow. I'd purchase again.
