LAWN SWEEPER 44IN 25CU FT HOPPER CAPACITY ORANGE/BLACK

I owned a 45-0320 sweeper, but with the added lawns I took care of it wasn't heavy enough. I purchased this 44' sweeper and noticed a big difference. It was built stronger. The features of setting height were great. The metal rod handle was a plus. The easy handle rest rod I enjoyed. Won't miss dealing with the rope. The catch bag held more volume for cuttings. While in use, the sweeper didn't bounce around as much. I was quite impressed with the 44' sweeper. It was a little more in price, but well worth it. I bought this product September 2016. I put it together myself and took the time to generously grease the plastic gears after reading other reviews that stated the gears were "weak". After doing this the gears showed no sign of wear after several hours of use. I was a little disappointed at first but once I got it dialed in it worked great! I had to adjust the brush height a few times before I found the "sweet spot".

The body of the unit was damaged upon receipt - had to use a deadblow hammer to remove the dent. Only very slight damage to the box at 2 corners, no where near the damage to the body. The pin that sets the brush height didn't protrude into the unit far enough. Only pulling the sweeper for a few feet, the bumps caused the brush assembly to drop and lock up the wheels. I had to modify my own pin that protrudes further into the body and survives bumps. My guess is I am not the only person with a less than glass-smooth yard. It was obvious that Agri-Fab workers don't take pride in their work when it comes to finish quality on my purchase. They painted over excess weld splatters plus the Agri-Fab logo decal is all lumpy. The unit does function all right after the pin modification - picking up grass clippings and leaves.

This better quality than your traditional lawn sweeper you'll find in the big box stores. However, why only 3 stars? The handle is awkward. This is really meant for a garden or lawn tractor and not what I have, a Kubota bx series. I kind of figured this would be the case but with the slightly larger tractor I have, the handle cannot be reached. I have to rig up a rope system and even then it is very awkward to dump. Additionally the little metal spring things that are meant to help keep the bag open and standing up are cr*p. With-in the first use they bent, popped out of the holes and made a small hole in the side of my bag from the sharp metal. It does fold up quickly and neatly but overall there are still design flaws. I would have expected better for the additional cost and with the name Agri-Fab.

Works as described. All and all not bad but could use some stronger construction on the lower front edge. I added a piece of angle iron to the front for strength as it was quickly dented and bent from small rocks sticking up etc in my yard. Im sure a nicely graded yard this wouldn't be necessary. also the netting on the bag area should come down further as leaves are able to fly out.

I bought it in October thinking that it would due the trick but not as good of a job as we thought it would have been. The brushes are too flimsy, they should be thicker.

Purchased late summer to sweep grass clippings and leaves . Using the sweeper for the second time using the sweeper the two brace rod can loose and lost them in the clippings. While I was sweeping up leaves the upper rod the pull rod is connected to bent.

Bag tore within first half hour. Knob on dump rod fell off someplace in 4 acres.. Second time I used it the pin fell out of the bag frame and I had to put a bolt in it which is what should have been used in the first place. I didn't have to spend this kind of money for poor quality like this. Waiting for the wheels to fail now . That seems to be a common problem.. I have other Agri Fab equipment and it works fine. Not this thing.
