To be completely transparent, I was really skeptical about this because a lot of sauces/marinade i try that say anything close to honey or sweet is always WAY too sweet or has an odd after taste. This had a pleasantly surprising balance! It has a touch of sweetness to level out the flavors of a good bourbon marinade without being overpowering or having a weird aftertaste. I'll definitely be using this again for future meals!

Lawry's Honey Bourbon Marinade is a great flavor addition when cooking meat. The mixture of clove, pepper, and garlic fit nicely within the overall flavor and did not overpower it. The texture of the marinade was optimal for me, just the right thickness to cover the meat. I think that Lawry's did a great job with their version of the Honey Bourbon flavor. It wasn't too sweet or too acidic for a marinade unlike some other versions. Try this out. Get some boneless, skinless chicken breasts. Cut them up into strips. Soak them in buttermilk for up to eight hours, although an hour would work. If you don't have buttermilk, you can make it by mixing 1 cup milk with 1 Tablespoon white vinegar. The buttermilk tenderizes the chicken. Take them out of the buttermilk, but don't rinse them. Marinate them overnight in this sauce (or at least 1 hour). Dip them in a mixture of equal parts cornstarch, Progresso Italian breadcrumbs and planko breadcrumbs and air fry them...400 degrees for about 6 minutes each side, then get your favorite dipping sauce.

This honey bourbon marinade is mildly sweet and tangy, which is a great thing because the sweetness doesn't overpower the flavor of the sauce and food like most marinades do. I used it on some roasted chicken as well as some smoked beef brisket. I'd like to use it on some grilled fish and veggies next.

Lawry's kindly gave me this marinade for free so that I could review it. I love home cooked meals, but as a working mom of three, time is of the essence. It is also extremely rare for all three of my kids to eat and enjoy their dinner without complaint. When we had this marinade that actually happened, and it was super easy! Earlier in the day, I put the sauce onto some chicken breast (eyeballed it - super easy), set it in the fridge, and later grilled it on the stove top. It ended up flavorful, moist, and after adding a side of potatoes and salad, was just a really great and easy meal. It's a nice BBQ flavor (vinegar forward, sweet but not too much), and for us, didn't need any additional sauce after cooking. I feel like it would BBQ beautifully, but love it for a quick weeknight dinner. Super simple and delicious!

I'm so delighted to review complementary Lawry's Honey Bourbon Marinade which is tangy, sweet with just the right spices to bring your proteins or veggies to the next level. I used Lawry's marinade on baked chicken using my usual seasonings and the marinade blended well, with a rich sauce that paired well with potato salad or rice, also added crushed garlic for some extra spice. You can use the marinade alone and the flavor is tangy, with the consistency of bbq sauce, it's also great on bourbon chicken without having to whip up the recipe sauce, allowing the marinade to sit overnight on your protein is our preferred method. I've included a photo and you can see the spices and rich color of the sauce, if you're grilling, the marinade makes for a nice glaze.

I smoked up some hot wings to give this the ol college try and was pleasantly happy with the taste! Usually I like a more hotter wing, but the honey gave this a good sweetness to it. I only used it for dipping but I think next time I want to try this on ribs or chicken.
