As the saying goes, 'if it ain't broke, don't fix it', and that's what I say about Lays Classic chips. They have the same satisfying taste I've appreciated for years, and they're not too salty or greasy. I buy the Dill Pickle flavored ones occasionally because I love dill pickles. I am more of a salt than a sweets person. I rarely talk about the increased price of everything these days, as it is redundant.
I would like everyone to know how convenient and easy it is to order and have it delivered to your home the same day I am elderly, so I find it super important to me because sometimes I have trouble carrying all my groceries in and it's very easy to order from Walmart. Get what I need and have it delivered the same day and carried into my house.
Lay's Classic chips are a staple in our house and honestly one of those snacks you can never go wrong with. They're perfectly salty, crispy, and so good with sandwiches, burgers, or just by themselves. Definitely a classic chip for a reason! My only complaint is I wish the bag had more chips and less air in it lol.
when you are craving a salty chip this is the one to buy. they are light in color and thin with just the right amount of salt. just watch out for how they are on the shelf, if bunched or packed in thight you are gonna get broken chips. my bag has a lot of broken chips. i would love for the company to find a way to package so every chip is perfectly whole.
Lay's has not only changed the bags they come in, but they have in some way changed the chip. I don't know if they cook them differently now or if they use a different oil. But they need to go back to the original Lay's chip. They are much too crunchy now and they have much less taste. I need a new snack. Until then, I'm stuck with these.
I used to love these, and for the price its fine when I just want a cheap bag, or like I did yesterday to bring to the beach, but the taste and crunch to it is noticably different. And they taste so bland (yes im aware its original but they used to taste like something)
I've been buying lays original chips for many many years. Recently, the quality control, perhaps shipping conditions, have resulted in me getting bags of chips that are Basically just shards of chips not whole chips that I would serve at a meal or to company.. Not acceptable.
I'm sad to say I can only give these Lay's Classic Potato Chips 3 stars. For years, these were my go-to, reliable snack, but lately, they have really lost their edge. The quality is just not where it used to be, and it's quite noticeable. It feels like the consistency has declined significantly. The chips often lack that perfect, uniform crispness I expect, sometimes tasting a bit stale or brittle right out of a freshly opened bag. Furthermore, the seasoning seems unevenly distributed; some chips are bland while others are overwhelmingly salty. While they still technically taste like a potato chip, they no longer deliver that satisfying, classic Lay's flavor and texture experience. They'll satisfy a quick craving, but they no longer feel like a premium snack—just an average, middle-of-the-road choice. It's disappointing to see a staple product like this decline over time.
When my order was delivered, the bag of Lays chips was torn open. I contacted Walmarts customer service in the app and asked for them to contact me. I was called and then you hung up on me. The chips would have been fine, IF delivered unopened. BUT I had to throw them away. Be less worried about Frito Lay and more worried about your delivery services! And DO NOT hang up on someone that is trying to do business with you. You owe me a free bag of chips.
For the first time we had Lay's Classic Potato Chips, 8 oz Bag that was stale. Not just a little stale either. The expiration date marked is days from now. The package wasn't broken open prior, nor were the chips crushed... they were just badly staled. Worst part it isn't worth taking it back to the store because it's difficult for us to travel, so we're just out the cash for it.
