well, I love Lay's chips. I thought I should give them a try for the first time. The chips are good, but I was a bit disappointed the flavor of onion and sour cream was weak to me. The chips need more kick to satisfy me. Perhaps if I had sour cream and onion dip to go with them, it would blend well. I will give that a try.

So Good You Ignore the Greasy Fingers

Jennifer May 10, 2026

These chips are seriously so good! The sour cream and onion flavor is super tasty and always hits the spot. They do leave your fingers a little greasy, but honestly the flavor is sooooo yummy that it's totally worth it lol. Definitely one of our favorite chip flavors!

Freshest, Best Tasting Lays Chips

Don June 11, 2026

These are the best potato chips. You can not beat Lays chips. Walmart has the absolute best price on them. They are fresh and way cheaper than any supermarket. Sour and Cream are my families go to flavor and they can finish a bag off easily at one time. Can not go wrong getting them.

I rarely buy potato chips, but it's been about almost a year since I've bought chips, but I was craving some sour cream and onion from laze. They have the best crunchies the best tasting sour cream and onion, and it stands up to whatever I remember.

Love sour creme and onion flavor and these are great ! The bag is fuller than most brands not mostly air and they are affordable for cookouts parties and just to have some around for sides to sandwiches

Nasty Soy Aftertaste. YUCK! SUPER SALTY!

Anonymous May 16, 2026

Lay's was my go to chip for a long long time. They were the only company who stayed with vegetable oil after all the other companies switched to soy oil. Sadly Lays has succumbed to the soy oil conspiracy. They have sacrificed flavor for profit. I am so disappointed in Lays because even though they're making their product for less money they are charging way more for it and they have shrunk down the Family and Party size bags to what used to be considered an individual size. I think that's what makes me the most angry. I used to be able to buy HUGE bags of chips for parties at a fairly reasonable price Now if I want to buy chips for a party I have to get 3 or 4 bags and very unreasonable price. I really don't like the soy after taste. Why did I buy these? For the most part they are a higher quality chip with less brown spots and broken chips than other brands. Since everyone is using soy oil it doesn't matter. If I want a potato chip I have to accept one that is fried in soy oil. The soy after taste is terrible and I can't eat more than 10 chips. Remember when another chip brand said, "you can't eat just 1" well I can eat 1 chip and be done because it tastes terrible. Sometimes the soy flavor isn't as strong and sometimes it's very strong. I don't know why. If lays wanted to say money they should cut the salt in half. These things are so salty they'll make your lips pucker. They've cut down the size of the bag, they're using soy oil instead of vegetable oil (Soy Beans are not a vegetable) but they won't cut back on the salt? I wish someone could explain that logic to me because most of America is looking for healthier alternatives with less sodium and that's the 1 thing food agencies refuse to give us?

good price (for now)

anonymous June 29, 2026

i wanted french onion but i think sunchips is the only brand that makes those. The Lay's brand is fair in the middling. i appreciate the budget pricing but given the bag size. it's definitely a very competitive price point. i do wish the chips were thicker, not the airy, thin, crunches that irritates my gums.

Lynda April 20, 2026

I have been purchasing this brand and flavor of potato chips for a while now and they have had good flavor and a thin crispy crunch. The two bags I received today had chips in them that were very thick and totally flavorless. I want my money back because the potato chips I received tasted gross and I wasted my money buying them
