I had been using Instacart with little to no satisfaction. They came hours late, they were missing items, “they said they couldn’t find “, or simply placed my groceries at someone else’s house! I cannot walk! The person that was responsible for bringing my groceries to my door did an excellent job of getting everything I asked for and all in two hours! No substitutions, no annoying texts, no excuses why my milk was hot or why my grapes were almost gone four hours after I had placed my order! I will not be using instacart again Gwen
This is some of the most versatile and delicious meat Walmart offers. You can do so much with this stew beef. Beef pies, oxtails, beef burgundy, stew, you name it. To me, the price is great for the amount you get, and I have never gotten a yucky piece. Pieces are great, chewable sizes, and make cooking a breeze.
Normally, when I buy stew meat, I inspect each piece and cut off any remaining fat. Because I purchased the Lean stew meat, I didn't have to trim any of the pieces! The meat was perfect and ready to cook. I made beef stew for dinner and the taste and texture of the lean beef was superb. I definitely recommend this product, and I will buy it again.
I use this meat for stews as well as other recipes. I am very picky about the amount of fat on my meat so I would prefer even less, but I think most people would find it acceptable. I brown the meat prior to adding it to stew then I simmer it for a couple of hours. It then becomes extremely tender. I feel it has more flavor when browned and seasoned prior to putting in to stews, soups, or other recipes
Have been buying this for years. I prefer it to that bought in other stores because it's consistently free of excessive fat and GRISTLE. Cooked in an iron pan, it develops a delicious browned flavor for stews, beef n noodles, and more. The pieces are a perfect size as sold. The pieces are not big chunks too much for one mouthful, and sometimes i cut them into tiny bits. I appreciate that Walmart sells the stew meat in approximately one pound packages so it's easy to acquire the right amount for recipes ranging in number of servings made.
Good flavor and it's convenient that it's already cut up. I like smaller chunks in my stew so I cut each piece into 2 or 3 pieces. Sure, stew is thought of as a winter meal but I love that I can put it in my slow cooker with some veggies and the meal is ready for dinner!
I like to get these packs of beef tips and make beef tips and noodles. So good. Sometimes the meat doesn’t look fresh, and sometimes a few pieces look dark and not a lot of flavor. But it good. Everything is so expensive now, it’s hard to find top quality and affordable also.
I had got it the week before and it was delicious and tender, so I got it again it was so tough we could not eat it, so I tried cooking it longer but that did NOT HELP, so trash can got it! I am on a very limited budget so no more beef from Wal-Mart for this 82yo lady!
Super fatty, tiny cuts of meat. Was more like small chunks of hamburger than stew meat. had to throw quite a bit away due to large chunks of fat. Expensive for item recieved. I would not recommend, nor would I buy again.
This was part of the order where the delivery driver did not follow instructions. They did not ring my doorbell, so I had no idea that the food was there until an hour later. Most all of the non-perishable items were bad as they had been sitting out in the 90° weather for that long .
