LeapFrog, Mr. Pencil’s Scribble and Write, Writing Toy for Preschoolers

Great gift for my niece.

Since Covid-19 cut my daughter's last few months of preschool short I wanted something to help her learn to write. After searing online for a day I decided on Leapfrog Mr. Pencil scribble . she absolutely loves it. She not only recognizes letters she can write most of them now. Mr. Pencil is going to be a big help getting her ready for kindergarten thia fall .

My 3 year old loves it. It is helping her learn to write her letters and numbers. My 6 year old even gets in on the act. It's really too simple for him but he likes to play with it .

The item is as described. I'd wish the screen would light up a bit brighter for easier use.

It would be so much better if it had a backlight for the screen. It is very dark and hard to see unless you are under a bright light. But I gave it 3 stars because my 4 year old grandson has been enjoying playing with it and it was on sale for $18 dollars :) but I definitely wouldn't purchase it again.

This would be so much more amazing if it had a back light .... why are leapfrogs electronics like this in our day in age ?!? Would recommend because it helps them to write by letting them trace bs just showing how and has interactive little pictures but it is very disappointing that a bright light must be available or it can't be used ( no night time car rides with this learning toy)

Very disappointed. Bought as a Christmas gift and it came damaged and broken. So the screen has a small plastic film over it that's supposed to stay in place and it came like someone had try to take it off all scratched and raised. I tried to overlook it Then we get it out of the box so my kid can use it and she couldn't do the writing on it. Idk if it's the screen or the pencil or what but it didn't work. Got an upset kid that her toy doesn't work and now I have to go through the hassle of shipping back for a replacement. Employs should check things work before shipping them out.

[Employee of walmartcanada] The brightness of the screen is very very low and you can't even see what your kid is writing there plus very small screen size.

I bought this as a Christmas gift for my soon-to-be 2 year old. After the batteries died, it took a whole for me to replace them as I wasn't a fan of the dark small screen. After replacing the batteries, I couldn't get it to come on. I went back to using an app on her tablet where she traces with her fingers. (I got the V-Tech one too just haven't tried it out yet as it is bigger than her.) This product would be great if the screen was a bit bigger and came with a backlight. We both love that she can carry it around. As I am not a fan of cleaning pencil walls from scribbles, I saw this as an alternative. I always sing praises whenever someone asks me a brand of products to use but not for this particular toy. Fix the problem Leapfrog and I will.
