Lots of fun for my four year old who loves unicorns. Took a bit of patience to get her started but now she understands some of the spells (especially the one to make it dance) she is very happy
My daughter is recently obsessed with unicorns so this was on our must get list, at almost 4 she's also very intrigued when it comes to learning new things so coding unicorn seemed perfect. My daughter loves to get the unicorn to 'chase' people and it's great to see the thought process on her face as she's trying to work out which buttons she needs to press to make it go the right way. The unicorn seems robust, it's colourful and it's entertaining, especially with the spell book allowing you to make the unicorn dance amongst other things. I would definitely recommend as both a fun and interactive toy, and an educational toy. We love it and the accessories make it even more interactive.
Bought as a Christmas present. Hope granddaughter will enjoy it.
I absolutely love this set as a mum and a teacher! It is a brilliant way to teach young children the basics of coding. It is really magical too because they make the unicorn move by using their magic wand..very exciting! The extra pieces are great for creating adventures for Sky the unicorn and the Spell book has lots of different codes for my little girl to try out. This was given as a 5th birthday present and it is a huge hit with my little girl. Her 8 year old sister also loves playing with it. Highly recommend!
My son is absolutely obsessed with unicorns, and loves coding, so as soon as he saw this, he was completely in love! This fantastic coding critter comes with lots of accessories to bring this set together to make such a good opportunity to learn through play! Use the child friendly magic wand to control your critter through the rainbow and around objects. It also comes with a fantastic little book to teach your child how to perform 'magic spells' and get your critter to make noises, light up and dance! There are so many ways to play with this, and all the while, your children will be learning all about coding in such a fun way! The set is well made and robust, which is definitely a must in this house, and stores away nicely in its strong cardboard box. If your children love coding, or want to learn in a fun way.. this is definitely a must buy!
We have had lots of fun getting to grips with coding with Skye! The actual unicorn unit itself feels good quality and solid, as does the wand controller. Skype performs a good number of 'tricks' with coded commands, the light up horn is a nice touch. As well as being educational this is a fun item for children to play with and I feel would make a great Christmas present.
Eden really enjoyed using the unicorn coding game. The accessories made it really easy to get Eden engaged. We planned routes such as getting the unicorn Skye to meet her friend panda and to go through the rainbow which are all included in the package. The arrows which again are included are all colour coded to match the programming wand to aid teaching directions and to plan the routes. The extra bonus is the spell mode which enables you to get Skype to do fun activities such as dancing and following a ball. I would recommend this toy for children 4-8 however does have entertaining factors for younger children when in spell mode making the longevity of the toy and collaboration between siblings great! All in all a great product which delivers hours of STEM aimed fun!
I got this toy to go with our huge collection of coding critters - they are amazing!! Theres lots of things in the box so we spent some time setting everything up, adding stands and stickers (don't forget to buy batteries) and laying it all out. Before we used the book they wanted to just play, my 7 year old soon worked out how it all worked, took a little longer for my 4 year old, she found it tricky to understand that the buttons work in the way the toy is going not in the direction she is facing, but got the hang of it soon enough. Simply, you use the wand to set the instructions, it has 4 arrow buttons and a 'go' button in the middle. You can press the directions as many times as you like before pressing go, they love working out how to get their toys around objects. The set also comes with a smaller animal and play equipment for it, the animals are really cute. There is another magic button on the wand that does other things, the set comes with a book to explain these. It also makes cute and funny noises while in play, and you can use the direction counters to plan and test your instructions. These have been well played with, my daughters absolutely love them!! I also really like that they are so educational, they are learning so much though play which is always a bonus.

Purchased for my 3 year old daughter. I had to read the instructions twice because i couldn't believe how little this product does. The 'stepping stones' are flimsy cardboard and you need to put your own stickers on. Overall it looks cheap. Once my daughter worked out how to make the unicorn dance and lights flash, it held little interest. It really was a 'one trick' pony. My son who is 5 also gave it a go, but again was bored after two minutes.
