Great for teaching my Kindergarten class

The Bragging Mommy September 22, 2014

It is a new school year and we are working hard on letters in my classroom. I was very excited to receive the Magnetic Letter Construction Letter Construction from Learning Resources for review. My students had so much fun using the Magnetic Letter Construction set. They loved being 'letter builders.' There are a lot of things that I like about this set. It has a variety of different shapes and pieces to make the letters. My students had to use problem solving skills to figure out how to build each individual letter. I also liked that the pieces were a little bit smaller to help them work on important small motor skills. The pieces are also magnetic on the back. They would be perfect to use on the refrigerator at home to practice building the letters. The set does come with a 'cheat sheet' to show you what pieces to use to build the letters if you need help. Do be careful with the pieces. The pieces are small so I would make sure to keep them away from your smaller ones at home so they do not end up in someone' s mouth. I am so excited to use the Magnetic Letter Construction throughout the whole school year. Right now, we are building letters but it will be great for building words later in the school year. I love that my students are having fun learning their letters!

Great Learning Tool

Nancy @ Arizona Mama July 15, 2014

The Magnetic Letter Construction is a set of 262 magnetic foam pieces. The pieces are color-coded. There are lines and curves of different sizes that can be used to create uppercase and lowercase letters. You can even make some numbers too. It comes in a nice bucket to hold them all and a fun activity guide. There are so many things that can be learned with these. Letter names, sounds, phonograms, fine motor skills, numbers, shapes, and more. They can be used on the table, refrigerator, or even a cookie sheet. In classrooms they would be great for small group or individual play on small magnetic boards. When I opened the tub for my 6 year old we started with making my son's name. He though it was really fun to make his name with the different shapes. We moved from the table and tried it out on the refrigerator. We made the ABC's and he even used it to make a fun circle shape. I pulled out a cookie sheet and I think this is the way he loved it the most. He was making flower shapes and letters. I like that the cookie sheet or small magnetic board can be portable and used anywhere. The magnetic foam pieces are well made and easy to use. I think you can even make some little models for younger kids to copy to make their letters. I was provided the above mentioned products in order to provide a review. I was not compensated in any way. All thoughts and opinions are my own and not influenced. Lovely kit BUT

Lotte May 8, 2019

My autistic son is obsessed with "letters and numbers" and one of his favourite activities is lining up the alphabet in order. Thought this product would be a great way to extend his play and it was. Particularly pleased there was a visual included inside the tub to show how to create each letter, though might be nice if this was a little bigger. However the big downside with the product we received is that it was 3 orange pieces short to make the full alphabet together (upper and lower case) as outlined on the visual. Luckily I twigged this and worked out a way we could build the last letters without them BEFORE my son noticed. If I hadn't this would have led to a meltdown. If you are buying for a child who is similar to my son, plan ahead your x y and z!
