Learning Resources Solar Lantern, Kids Camping Accessories, Easy-Grip Portable Light, Ages 3+

My son loves this lantern. We received one to try through Viewpoints, and he took to it instantly. We put it in the window as soon as we took it out of the box for the sun to charge it. He was fascinated by the idea that it would store sunshine for him to let out later (easiest way to explain solar power to an almost 3 year old. Lol) He insisted on sleeping with it that night. He put it under his blanket and cuddled it all night long. He and his cousin ( girl, 3) love to huddle around the lantern with a blanket over their heads telling each other spooky stories. This lantern even helps my son with his fear of monsters in the dark. He has dropped the lantern several times, once onto a hard surface, and it doesn't even have a scratch. My son is pretty rough on his toys and this definitely withstands his abuse. Would recommend over and over to other parents!

I was not aware of the Solar Lantern before receiving it. Before the Lantern my 3 year old would use a flashlight when playing forts with blankets. Now that we have the Solar Lantern my 3 year old's imagination and play has grown! He lives to "camp" in his room with blankets all on the floor and pretends to cook food over the "campfire." The Solar Lantern lasts for multiple hours after charging it in the sun. It was a learning experience for my son to know how the sun works to charge the Lantern. I would recommend this Lantern for others with young children to help grow their imagination.

Bought this for our grandson who is nearly 3 .He loves torches & lights and has a good imagination .He will love hiding with this solid little lantern and making dens .It has a perfect handle for little hands or for hanging up in a tent .It is a good size and the switch won't be a problem for him either.We have tried it out and the light is very good and how great that we don't have to keep buying batteries ! I can see that I will be buying more of these solar lanterns, they are the best on the market-have done lots of research.Great product & great site !

I will Definately recommend this solar powered lantern to all my family and friends !! It's really awesome the way simple way the on and off switch is ! Very easy to use and the kiddos love it ! Plus you don't have to buy batteries ! A great big plus !!!

My kids & I loved it!! It works great using it as a night light, or playing outside in the dark! My son carries it all over the house, and anywhere we go. It lasts a long time, and it charges quickly! I love that you dont have to have batteries. I plan on buying more.

My son absolutely loves this little solar lantern. It is pretty durable too, as he is constantly running with it, and dropping it. The solar patch on it has stayed in place, and is still in great condition. The light lasts about as long as it stated, I think over 12 hours? I left it on just to try it out, in a dark room, with no available sunlight, just to see if it was true. It is also not heavy, easy to carry for a little one. Lights up a nice little space in the dark for a child too.

I gave it to my 3 yr old son. He loves to play with the lantern. The lights look like little stars when turned on. The knob for on/ off is easy to turn. It comes partially charged, so I sat it inthe sun and bam we've got light! Works as a night light or lamp.

Finally a lantern/nightlight that doesn't require batteries! I've bought (and thrown away) too many products like this one. I had never heard of the Solar Lantern before so I was eager to try it out. My son used it outside when he was catching fireflies and it took a lot of throwing around and bumping, but it didn't affect it at all! It has a handle that is easy for kids to hold on to which is great. One of my favorite features is that when the lantern reaches 50% of use left it turns of to let you know! I love this! It gives me a gauge of about how long I have left. It stays lit for up to 15hrs. which is a considerable amount of time. The best feature by far is the solar panels/no batteries! Over the years I gone through more batteries than I can count. We've had a few lantern nightlight's that by the end of the night needed new batteries or they needed to recharge (if we used rechargeable ). This to me is such a waste. I'm surprised that there aren't more products like this on the market. I absolutely love this Solar Lantern and would highly recommend it for parents. It really has it all for latern!

This product was chosen by me from several to review. I thought it sounded interesting since my three year old would be testing the product and will not sleep without an overhead light on each night. My eleven year old daughter unpacked it from its packaging and placed it outside the first day. She was so eager to show it to the three year old once it had powered up. It did not disappoint. They were so excited by the bright lights on the product. I convinced my three year old to let me turn out the overhead light at night so he could better see the lights on the lantern. HE LET ME!! I was so excited because no nightlight has worked before this. Since then, each day he has as a chore to take his lantern outside to collect the sunlight and bring it in the afternoon. He loves this thing. I would never have thought of this option without it being offered as a product to review.

The solar lantern did exactly what it advertised to do. You place it outside in the sun and then it lights up. Directions were clear and simple to understand. I would definitely buy this toy. I was not aware of the Solar Lantern before participating in this program and I would recommend the Solar Lantern to others. My only reason for giving it four stars instead of five is I wish that the on/off button clicked when you turned it off/on. Otherwise, a great product.
