LEATHERMAN, Skeletool RX Multitool with Serrated Knife and Glass Breaker, Red

This is the multitool to have in my truck. It can cut straps or break out a window. I rolled my old truck when the axle broke. I was upside down in my seatbelt. Fortunately I could unclip and roll down (up) a side window and get out. This tool could be a lifesaver in a similar car accident if the electronic window had been nonfunctional. Well made, sharp blade. Great multitool in your vehicle or clipped to your pants.

Got the Skeletool RX with the free bits, nice bonus. I like it. What I didn't like is the amount of time I took to decide on between the RX and CX. Learned later I could've just ordered the glass breaker bit separately for the CX. Oh well, no biggie. I love Leatherman multitools. They're customer service is awesome.

this is the third or fourth skeletool i've owned in the last decade. I love it but sadly i use it so much and take it so many places that eventually it ends up falling out of my pocket. I wish the pocket clip was more burly!! i'd gladly take the extra weight of a more heavy duty pocket clip to keep the dang tool in my pocket, even if I decide to do a random cartwheel in the park, or whatever. Still haven't found another tool that quite fits my preferences like this and I own/have owned many other multi-tools.

Since purchasing my Skeletool I have found that I now carry it with me throughout the day. I primarily use the knife and bottle opener but have used the screwdriver, the carabiner and the wire cutters too. To me its now as essential in my pocket as my car keys and wallet.

Purchased this product specifically for my car. I wanted a quick and safe way to cut my belt and break glass in case of emergency. This is exactly what I needed. And it just so happens I like the way it looks. I've always been happy with Leatherman and their products, and this one is no different.

The blade feels solid and sharp, the pliers feel sturdy and very well made. Red paint does rub off in places, but I don't see it as an issue. My only concern is the bit holder for the glass breaker / screwdriver bit doesn't seem very tight, I can pull out the bit without any effort without pressing the release button, I am a little worried that the bit might fall out and get lost, but so far it didn't.

So as far as the tool I have no complaints so far. The only thing that brings the stars down is Leatherman support. I ordered the RX with the sheath, but I never got it with my order. The only response I got when contacting support was that I must have forgotten to order it, and most people order it without the sheath. I'd I wanted it I should order the sheath separately and pay the added $10 plus shipping (if you order it with the tool it's free), so I passed.

I already have the CX with a black finish that is very good and after 3 years is not worn off. However I am sincerely disappointed with the quality of the paint finish of the RX. After only a week the finish is wearing off. When I contacted LM they informed me that this is normal.
