This build was much like #7661, especially the hyperdrive ring. But I really enjoyed it and thought it was a bit more fun. The alternate faces on the minifigs are awesome too. I've been waiting for another Jango minifig since #75015. Worth the money!
Amazing set, with good cast of minifigures, Took about 4 hours to build, very challenging, but fun.I'm glad to have a Jango Fett Minifigure, since I missed the last one. The Hyperdrive ring was the most difficult, but was a good challenge, the jedi starfighter was also excellent, as there has not been one in several years, Very Well done LEGO!!
This model accurately portrays Obi Wan's Delta 7 Aethersprite Light Class Interceptor (to give the ship its full name) amazingly and is in my opinion one of the best Star Wars sets released. The build is slightly challenging with interesting techniques used to get the shape right and is only slightly repetitive for the hyperdrive ring. The colour scheme is movie accurate and overall the model is very sturdy. The ship has a good shape and the designers have added space to store Obi Wan's lightsaber underneath the wing and R4's body in the ship, which is very helpful. Extra details like the Republic insignia have been added through stickers. The stud shooters add playability but detract from the aesthetic of the ship. The hyperdrive ring is a work of genius! This is the most time-consuming and repetitive part of the build but the end result is worth it. Spring loaded shooters have been included but they're nicely hidden. The mechanism that holds the ship onto the hyperdrive ring works well and there's no way for the ship to fall off. The minifigures are standouts. The last time we saw Jango Fett was back in 2013 and this minifigure is an improvement with better colours. The young Boba Fett is brilliant with detailed printing and wears a malicious grin. Again he hasn't been seen since 2013. Obi Wan Kenobi is detailed with his pilot headpiece printed on his face. R4-P17 is Obi Wan's droid and completes the selection. There hasn't been a Jedi starfighter like this in over 10 years so the model will look unusual in any collection. Overall this is an incredible set that I would recommend to Star Wars or Clone Wars fans as the ship appears in both. However the price is a bit more than it's worth.
Awesome set. Really fun to build despite the repetition of the hyperdrive. The ship is quite easy to build, while the hyperdrive can be challenging at some points. It has a very nice, even genius, 'handle' & way to connect the ship to hyperdrive. While holding the 'handle' u can easily hold entire set to fly around, remove ship, or fire either springloaded shooter on hyperdrive. Ship itself has a nice spot to hold while flying w/o hyperdrive. Ship also has a spot for R4's body (as only his top is put onto ships wing for flying), and has spot for lightsaber & spare springloaded shooter ammo. Ship is very well done with 2 stud shooters and wings that can be flat or folded down a bit. Come with great minifigs. Young Boba has short legs and either a upset/confused look or the best evil grin ever. Jango comes with only one face but he has printing on his legs, a jet pack, guns, & blue helmet with visors & antenna thing-(I've also heard it called a rangefinder). R4 is R2 with different colors, nothing too special, but nice to have an R4 figure.. Obi-wan has 2 faces, angry or worried, printed legs (just a few lines), & a blue lightsaber with silver hilt. Overall great set & fun build. Highly recommended.
Waiting along time for this set to be made and it didn't disappoint love all the features and very clever to use clear parts for the handle and the minifigures are great finally an updates episode 2 obi-wan and another boba and jango get . Overall an amazing set 10/10 Only downside price was a little too high but apart from that still a great set now to wait for a new jango get slave 1 to go with it
Having ignored this set, mainly because I mostly collect the newer Star Wars films Lego, I took a closer look at this set and decided to buy-has to be said, for the young boba fett, jango fett and obi-wan figures. They're nicely detailed and love the scowling expression which highly resembles the young boba in the films! Whilst the build of the craft is enjoyable, the hyperdrive ring is somewhat repetitive but that's to be expected. What you get at the end is a very impressive set which can stand up and is not flimsy at all. It's an excellent display piece worth the money. It's now one of my fave sets, wish I'd bought it sooner!
Got this set for myself for Christmas from a local toy story. It has some sentimental value, as the original Kenobi starfighter set from the mid-2000's was one of my first sets, so I felt I just had to get this! First, the starfighter. It's sturdily built, with some clever technique around the cockpit. I know one of the critiques of this set has been the area just in front of the cockpit. In pictures, the bulge looks huge and out of place. However in person, it's less noticeable. Another nice thing about this model is that the cockpit control panel inside is printed, not a sticker. The Hyperring is pretty awesome as well. It's not the sturdiest lego set I've seen, but then, I wasn't expecting it to be. It easily supports the starfighter model, and the connection function for the starfighter is pretty clever. The engines and side panels are pretty nice as well, with only a few sticker. The minifigures are awesome. Nicely detailed and definitely a welcome addition to the set. I'd highly recommend this kit to anyone.
I love this set. I also missed the first Jango Fett mini fig so when I saw that he was available in this one, I didn't hesitate. He makes an awesome bonus! The hyperdrive ring is a huge bonus too compared to the first edition and the star fighter has a lot more detail. Makes a great addition to my Lego Star Wars collection. Now, please Lego, design a new edition of Jango Fett's Slave I and the space battle can be recreated! I only have a couple nit picks though: in the movie, the star fighter detaches from the bottom of the ring, not the top. If we're going for accuracy here, the set could've been designed a little better. Maybe Lego could have also designed a new Kaminoan mini figure to go with the set too. After all, Obi Wan's and Jango's duel takes place at the Slave I landing pad. Also, maybe could have included an additional head for Obi Wan's body so that you could interchange his face without having his headset detail all the time. All in all, awesome set!
This was the Jedi Starfighter model that was used by Obi-Wan Kenobi during Attack of the Clones, and the Jedi Order during the early stages of the Clone Wars. Likely the best thing about this particular model though is that it includes the Hyperdrive ring, which was only released once before with Obi-Wan's Blue Eta-2 Interceptor from Revenge of the Sith. The build of this model was well designed, taking much from the design from the Azure Angel (Anakin's custom Jedi Starfighter) from 2015, minus the additions like the fins and air intake engines, and with good reason as it was a solid design. One good additon to that design was adding a rack for the lightsaber on the underside of the ship, which I found lacking with Azure Angel. Compared to the original Jedi Starfigher model from 2002, this design is a huge improvement. The stud launchers are a great addition as laser cannons, as well as the rotating piece for R4's head is a great addition as well. While R4 didn't have a full body at this part of the timeline, her full body is added, and is stored in a removeable part of the hull in front of the cockpit. Just placing R4 in here fully can give the illusion that this is the Delta-7B used during the mid stages of the Clone Wars, so you can customize the ship to your liking. The Hyperdrive ring is well designed, albeit repetitive to build. The Starfighter stably hooks into place in the middle. The addition of Jango and Boba is a great addition to reenact the scenes from Kamino, or the Geonosis asteroid belt if you have a Slave 1 model. The only issues I have with this part of the set is that the landing gear doesn't stabilize the ship, the amount of stickers, as well as the higher price per part. Despite all this, this is a great addition to any Lego Star Wars collection.
This set is a great build. It is fun and has great playability. A few small gripes when assembled its not accurate at to the way the hyperspace ring fits to the ship and when setting the hyperspace ring bottom panels tend to come off really easy. Neither of these would or should deter a purchase of this set. It really has a lot of great playability. Love the way they give you the clear lego pieces to hold the ship. Makes swooshing super easy. I love this set.
