Lego 71376 Super Mario Thwomp Drop Expansion Set New with Sealed Box

We love this set! Not only was it a really fun build, but we have had so much fun playing with it on a course along with just some of the character packs. From a build perspective we love the hidden colours inside Thwomp and it's tricky enough to challenge my son with new techniques. The play in it we find so entertaining, the drop and “ping” of the lava bubble has given us loads of giggles! We also found you need to push the arm back in to reach the top so you get 3 slides but it's not a massive issue for us. It's a really great add on, and as we've said can be used by itself with the starter course and some character packs if you're happy resetting Thwomp each time as we were to see the lava bubble propelled again and again!

The thwomp dropping is extremely satisfying, especially paired with the launching of the lava bubble. The only things I would change are to modify the inside of the thwomp so that when raising him to max height, you don't have to manually turn the could to get him locked in the 3 drop position. I would also turn the spikes around on his face, as all thwomps have spikes protruding outwards, and it really makes it look better.

Thwomp Drop is packed with clever mechanisms which are a delight to build. The sliding platform is solid and smoothly reinforced. The two-lever mechanism which operates Thwomp's drop in three passes... (or sometimes surprisingly in two passes if you haven't set him up securely at the top before beginning) is so satisfying to build because of the design of the mechanism - it just goes together so perfectly. Then once Thwomp drops, another mechanism is triggered to launch a lava bubble quite far! I screamed when he flew past me and was lost in the couch. The interior of Thwomp is worth mentioning too. On the outside, he looks like a menacing gray cube, but inside, he's delightfully colorful, utilizing fun parts in colors you don't get to see too often. The design of the interior, is super clever too! It contains alternating slopes which allow for the suspenseful drop! Bravo! Mario's reactions to the whole drop are less startling than mine were, but he definitely enjoys the experience. You will too!

good set. set great expansion to the starter set adds height to your build. and has a cool drop mechanism to keep u going. the fact it comes with 3 scannable figures is a bonus

The box quality is terrible but other then that everything is good came in right in time for my little brothers birthday present

i bought this set for my son because he wanted it for about two years and he enjoyed building the set but when he played with it the little technic pieces got jammed he was very upset with this if this did not happen i would give it a five star review.
