I bought this the Empire State Building as a Xmas present to myself to help get thru this current lockdown here . WOW!.. it's an amazingly enjoyable and a beautiful finished model of this iconic building which I once rode the elevators up . Highly recommended ! (hint) I cant wait for the other NYC icon, the Chrysler building to join it on display ; )
Enjoyed putting this iconic building together! Highly recommend
I love the Statute of Liberty set, so when I saw this I knew there was no point resisting. What caught my eye was the pretty accurately captured scaling and proportions that make this model look quite like the real building (Ok the yellow cabs might be oversized, but this is LEGO). For an Architecture set it is a good sized model and looks great as an ornament for those into buildings. There is a fair bit of repetition, but you progress quickly and it's very satisfying when you place the large expanses of tan tiled window sections. There are a couple of fiddly bits when constructing the lower podium section, but otherwise it's pretty straight forward. I think this is very well designed set and have been cleverly thought out to give nice fine detailing to the setbacks of the tower that take it away from the expected LEGO scaling. All we need now it for LEGO to bring to the Chrysler Building to complement this! Hint hint!
I bought this set for my son, but I was also very excited about it. The building looks awesome, and it is quite impressive. I have only one humble request to LEGO... create other sets about iconic buildings but PLEEEEEAAAAAAASE, keep the SAME SCALE, even if the building ends with 1+ m tall. For instance, the 21031 Burj Khalifa now looks minute compared to this ESB, and they are hardly comparable due to the big difference in terms of scale. This ESB could set the beginning of a new line of sets inside the Architecture series.
I adore the Architecture series! This was my 6th build from it. It was also my tallest and most piece-set I´ve ever built so far. It was a bit to keep track of all the pieces as well as making sure Im doing everything right. I messed up once, but thankfully easy to correct! Just grabbed two very similiar pieces. Its a fun, slightly advanced build (for me anyway), and it took me a few hours with a break after bag 3 was complete! The building looks so great when its finished, grandeur in its size and details.
This is truly a breathtaking set to own the entire build is fun to put together the model assembly is like a puzzle box with each part slotting into there correct place overrall the Empire State Building is a fantastic set to own and does stand out on display.
Bought this to battle isolation, however when I got started I couldn't seem to stop. It was satisfying when all the pieces spited together to make this magnificently sized replica of the Empire State. What will I build next?!
This is one of the most beautiful LEGO sets. Construction is fun and not as repetitive as it seems. My only criticism is that, to my surprise, there is no spare grill tiles, and one of them came dented (see photo.) Apart from that, the set is perfect. The finished set is very solid and it's great for display. Totally recommended!
A real pleasure to behold and construct with a high level of detail. Lego delivers another fantastic building experience.
I really enjoyed building this. It was my Sunday afternoon treat during lockdown, took me 5 weeks, a couple of hours per week. My only quibble is that one of the golden pieces, right at the very end, was missing. It wasn't essential and you can't see it's missing if I position it against the wall.
