It may be small, yes but the whole process is very complicated and just a small build took me an hour which was very surprising. The mechanics such as using the moving prices were very well thought out and I liked how they also included Chinese name price which related back to where it was. The mountain is very beautiful and the inside is filled not empty so the build is very sturdy.
I bought 2 sets for this set and connected them both. It looks way better if you have more than one sets built together. It is one, I think, a LEGO fan should have. I would've bought more if price was decent, but other than that, no complaints. It was fun building it.
This is my first Lego Architecture set, really eyes catching first time I saw it and I was hesitate to buy, because it look alike not much to build and the price is expansive. But luckily I make up my mind to buy it for my own. It is unexpected that is so fun to build and the detail is amazing. It look great for home display and I highly recommend. This is definitely my favourite landmark lego set. If you buy one and you would not disappoint.
I have decided to get another set to attach to the one I've just finished because I love this so much. I like the colour and how well wall looks. V easy build. And satisfying. It looks great displayed. It just bumped pop-up book from my favourite set of all my sets.
Very nice addition to the Architecture series. Looks great displayed with the skylines but stands out with its unique shape and colours. I also like that it feels more substantial and sturdy than the classic skylines, which can be a bit fragile. Love this set and want more like it!
I enjoyed this model, it is very attractive and makes me want to travel to China to see the real thing. The build is very interesting, there are no real confusing steps in it. It goes together very quickly. Even when in the initial sreps yo do not think it is going to work, it does. I loved the way the joints were combined to make a continuous run (apparently). Whoever designed it had a great idea, and implemented it well. Architecture may one day take over from my favorite sets (Technic) if the designers can keep the high quality sets going like this one.
I have been waiting for this and it did not disappoint. The build moved along quickly and it looks great with with my other architecture sets, it does not take up to much shelf space. Lego really needs to make more than 2 landmarks a year and do more for adult fans though.
Have been waiting for a Chinese architecture for so long! The Shanghai building set is really cool, but this one, (finally), is amazing and a must-have! I love the design of the environment and the Great Wall bricks. You can even puchase multiple sets and connect them together! Wow! Finally LEGO have something that represents Beijing. Thanks LEGO! (Keep going please!)
Just recently got back to playing with Legos as a constructive hobby to relieve some stress. Had mostly bought speed champion sets, but The Great Wall caught my eye. It appealed to me and I bought it. Had a great time assembling the wall so I bought a second set to make my wall longer. Not only is this the first architecture set I bought, but the first time I bought a second of the same Lego set. There are a few tricky points in the build, but overall it was easy to assemble.
Of all the Architecture kits I've built thus far, this would be the only one I couldn't recommend. Where the wall sections join at step 99 and step 112 are extremely fiddly- and don't look good. I dropped a 6020923 piece on step 58 down the hollow centre of the main mountain and had to dismantle nearly 28 steps worth of work to retrieve it. This piece is the only one I felt lacked the quality to display, so it's been deconstructed and put in storage. This kit lacks the intuitive build of newer architecture kits.
