LEGO Birthday Table Decoration Set #40153

This is a GREAT buy for the price. I love the look of it. The Jester has two faces (one happy and one sad) which is great if a Lego fan isn't too thrilled about their age. The build itself is very simple and easy with no issues. Instructions are included for doing the numbers so there are going to be pieces to keep up with if you intend on doing this every year as a table decoration (or in my case on my shelf) Fantastic set!

I stumbled across this quite by accident less than a week before my birthday and just had to buy one. Could Lego get it to me one time? Yes they could! It took about ten minutes to assemble and looks really cute. I'm not worried about the jester having no legs as I have no need for a jester in my Lego set-up's so he can stay inside the cake. The box is also big enough to store the completed model in to keep it safe and dust free until the next birthday in the family comes around. I also love the fact that you change the age each year. Every home should have one. Also a big thanx to Lego for including an extra little gift in the shape of the Spider-Man Super Jumper kit. Much appreciated!

This set is awesome! Although i extremely wish it came with legs for the jester because of that i rated the play experience two plates witch is fair. If he came with legs i would rate the play experience five plates. I also don't like that in the description it say's Includes a jester minifigure it should at least say that there are no legs included somewhere on the box or in the description right? Anyway besides the fact that there are no legs included this set is great and i will really enjoy having this on my birthday cakes until i'm 100 lol! This set is pretty neat and the pop-up function probably tops the cake (the set IS a cake. Get it?). Kind of like a Jack-in the-box. Although, it is not a set to play with and clearly states that on the box. Plus, the jester comes with no pants (how disappointing).

This set is pretty neat so without further ado: PROS: - bricks selection - color selection - jester minifig* CON: - JESTER is missing legs ! Why would you do this to me ? This set would be 10/10 if it had legs but now I feel I got robbed. Description says " Includes a jester minifigure" That is only PARTLY true, I can't remember when a set said it included a minifig yet it was only a half of it. Usually set says it includes 'x' minifigs and sometimes they even give you bonus parts (legs, head etc.) Here they take it away. You should say it includes a minifig upper part. How would I know ? First I thought I just lost it but in the booklet its not even there, then i checked reviews and saw others complain and get the legs. So can I please recieve a double colored (white - red) legs or is it impossible now, do I have to pay extra ? I wouldn't brag about it if I myself had a spare but I don't. I need it for my collection display

I bought two of these a few months back and saved them for a rainy day build. I liked the idea of a surprise being in the cake and enjoyed the idea of there being a jester, I've been wanting to add a jester or few to my collection of minifigures. The build was very straight forward and easy to complete. Like with many of these smaller vignette pieces, there are some really nice pieces in the mix for those that like to repurpose them for other projects. The extra pieces to make numbers 1-99 is a nice touch too. The only thing that does bother me about this build and keeps it from getting a top rating of 5 is the jester comes with no legs. You only get the torso, head, and jester hat. For me, that really limits his playability and usefulness. I understand the cake design prevents him from fitting in the cake with legs/pants, but it would have been nice to have included them for those that want to take him out of the cake. That was a real letdown. If you don't mind our jester being pants-less, then this set is perfect. But if you were hoping to get a complete minifigure out of the set, then let this be a heads up to you.

It's a very nice decoration piece, which is what it's supposed to be. The clown (who has no legs) operates very smoothly on the hinge. There's not much "play value" to it as is, but it could be combined with other pieces as the base is green like grass. One complaint is the top piece on the '1' does not fit smoothly and appears to be a slightly different yellow from the rest of the number. Overall, it looks very nice. I'm happy.

My 10-year-old daughter got this small set for her birthday. She was really excited that Lego had released a birthday-themed cake! She build it quickly and had lots of fun popping the "joker" minifigure up and down. This set has a lot of great detail. The candles are an excellent addition, as well as the layers of cake topped with white frosting. The best part is the hidden minifigure inside! All the guests who attended her birthday party were really amused at the Joker bouncing out of the cake, like a Jack-in-the-Box! The only problem with this is that the "lid", or rather, should I say "frosting," of the cake is not sturdy, so it gives away the fact that there's something inside. Whenever the cake is moved around, the lid wobbles, sometimes opening completely! But besides that, everything is great with this set! You should know that the Joker has an alternate face, a sad one, but I don't know why you would ever be sad on your birthday! Thanks for reading!

It was so fun to see the kids build it. However, I have to agree with the other reviewers. Wish they would have included the legs so the kids could play with it like a mini-figure. Please let me know how to get special legs for the Jester. We are Super Lego fans and wish there was a way to get all mini-figures as pictured and NOT by random with the dread and possibility of getting a duplicate mini-figure. Lego would make a TON of money $$$ if they would just label each mini-figure and let us buy each one individually so we can get ALL the characters. It makes the kids use their imagination more and they would like a Different mini-figure even it is displayed !!! Please change your packaging and allow for us to order each mini-figure as shown. Really, who wants to pay for a Duplicate mini-figure !!! It is very frustrating. You know everyone in the World feels the same way !!
