This is a really cute set, but the helicopter does not fly as shown in the description.

Disappointing set

Burnilion August 1, 2020

I am a huge Lego fan and saw this set in the shops and thought it might be a fun set to build. It was not, it was boring. It felt like a 4+ set not a Lego City set. It took me ten minutes to build. The helicopter doesn't ‘fly'. It just drops. We tried many times and it didn't stay in the air at all or ‘fly'. The details on the box say ‘flying helicopter' but clearly not, which is disappointing. Also on the picture on the box of Freya Mcloud (one of the figures), this shows her with a coffee mug with a picture of a marshmallow on it but that didn't come with the set. Again disappointing. Don't waste money on this set. Much better ones out there for similar price.

Rubbish

IanH75 January 4, 2020

Maybe the worst Lego set ever made. Only takes minutes to put together, the helicopter itself isn't actually a buildable item, and it barely flies. When you do pull the ripcord hard enough for it to get off the launcher, the helicopter just spins around. Needs some more stability to stop it spinning. Other ripcord toys like this don't have this problem. Not sure how Lego have managed to get this so wrong.

Least fun set

PapaOlivier November 29, 2020

For the value, we were expecting the helicopter to fly a little but it falls right to the ground. Very disappointing. From all the lego sets we bought, this one is the one giving the least fun for the money.

Poor design, poor value for money, disappointment

lop2021 January 17, 2021

I am validating the poor experience of others who have bought/built this product as well as other Lego sets that use similarly designed helicopters. I bought it for my 6 yr old grandson who expected to see the helicopter fly/hover at least a short distance. While overall product build quality is excellent, it became clear the helicopter was unable to even lift off of its own accord, let alone fly, from the launch device. On further investigation, it was evident that the downdraught/lift force provided by the rotating rotor was inadequate to overcome the weight of the helicopter. The rotor, when not fitted to the helicopter, was easily able to lift off and stay airborne for several seconds after launching with the launch device. The poor experience of this product has now reduced my expectations for similar products like #60260 which have now been removed from my wish list. It is disappointing the Lego designers did not pay more careful attention to this functional aspect the product to give a positive play experience. The rotor lift force and total helicopter weight must be readjusted/redesigned to give a net positive lift force. Only then can Lego live up to customer expectations for producing innovative functional products for a positive play experience.

Very Disappointed

Joesph January 2, 2020

This build was very disappointing. I expected that the helicopter was going to be a very simple build (only 4 pieces) but I had high hopes that it would be an interesting piece because of the flying aspect. However, the build does not fly well at all. After pulling the cord with considerable force the helicopter barely comes off the launcher and simply drifts/falls to the floor. What you are left with is a helicopter that doesnt feel like a lego build that doesnt work. Best part of this set is the minifigs. The ATV is a pretty standard variation of the Fire/Police ATV. Overall uninteresting, non-functional and would skip. Very disappointed lego!

Terrible Set! Helicopter that doesn't fly?!?!?

RNMedic53 January 22, 2020

This set was extremely disappointing. I am currently collecting most, if not all, fire related sets in order to build an awesome fire station in my LEGO city, and in doing so I like to add cool items like this that can be taken out of the city for demonstration. However, this set is a complete let down. It's a basic set and that is understandable, however, this rip cord helicopter does not fly. When pulled with a great amount of force, the only thing it does is spin up about 1/2 inch and then spin around (with no stability) into the ground. I've purchased a lot of LEGO sets and this is by far the worst. Don't buy this for anyone because it will be a let down.
