LEGO City Jungle Starter Set 60157 Building Set (88 Pieces)

The 3-figure starter sets are just great, and this is one of my favourites. There's just so much to do with all the stuff that's included! Obviously, this goes well with the other jungle themed sets, but it's absolutely fine on its own, too! With plenty of hazardous wildlife and interesting accessories (camera, machete, magnifying glass, snake catcher) to play around with, there are dozens of scenarios to play out as the jungle explorers search for the lost treasure of gold coins. The scientist figure has two expressions, and the scared expression is just great seen through the magnifying glass (which actually does magnify a little bit!). You can have him freaking out over everything they discover! Both of the builds – the boat and the tree – are very simple and go together quickly and easily. I like the colours and the smooth design of the boat, as well as the fact that it's able to carry all 3 minifigs along with some cargo despite its small size. The tree is a nicely asymmetrical, organic build that uses several different foliage pieces and even manages to include a little nook for hidden treasure (or a frog's hidey hole if you prefer!).

I think this is one of the best LEGO City Starter Models that have been produced. Pros: The most standing-out feature of this set was that unlike most of the other Starter Sets which include an ATV or small boat. Both of which can only seat one minifigure. But this time, they included a boat which can seat a maximum of 3 minifigures. A Black Mamba (although the snake is Green), a Poison Dart Frog and a Black Caiman. The frog was a new LEGO element made exclusively for this LEGO City theme. Cons: For this set, there was only one concern that really stood-out. Usually, in starter sets, you would find 4 minifigures in your set but in this one, there was only 3 which made the price to part ratio different to other Starter sets. Overall, the model is easy to build and I think this was a very successful set and I would definitely recommend it to a friend.

My 4 year old has wanted lego for a year. This set was both price worthy and perfect for the child just starting the Lego adventure.

The jungle starter set is one of the cool's Lego set's I've seein for a little bit. And got it for my collection and it fits awesome and the design is awesome.I think it worth the money.

My 9 year old thinks this is a fun little set. His favorite part is the alligator.

This is a great set to buy if you want to get hard to find pieces and great looking minifigures and you should buy it now

So, I havent done much with LEGO in years, but i got this just today. I can say without a shadow of a doubt that lego is getting even better with their value for a set than they were back when i was a kid. This little seven dollar set comes with a few things I really love. First; it comes with a decent selection of minifigures, as well as animals I wouldnt have otherwise without buying single bricks. The terrain build and watercraft are alright. They'd surely keep a child entertained for a bit. Personally, I wish it came with more bricks in the yellow-orange color the theme utilizes oh-so well, but as an entry-level product for the theme, it does it's job.

Our first jungle themed set. Cons: I don't really have any cons, it is a pretty simple build but it says it's a starter so that's to be expected. If You really want to dig for problems it is a little weird they all where the same colour pants but I'm just assuming it's a work uniform. Pros: 3 minifigures, a crocodile (or alligator?), a snake and a frog for a very good price. The boat is cool, every fits on if you sit two people on the sides, and it seems very sturdy. The little jungle decoration you build looks cool and is a fun addition. Overall: This is a starter set, so if you are just starting to collect Lego, or jungle Lego, this is a great place to start. My kids love the Lego animals.

Another cute little starter set. Great way to start the jungle set or to make your own little story by combining it with some other sets (like volcano explorer for example) and add some mystery in your imaginary LEGO island in the middle of the ocean :) OK....I am daydreaming now
