Great experience to spend quality time with your kids 😍 the design is what really surprised me, so detailed and precise. The quality is exactly what you would expect from a Lego set. It definitely will take you hours to build this one in particular, but well worth it!
We are lucky to have an independent LEGO shop near our village that has amazing stock and the latest sets. I bought this set and the new fire station. This was by the far the better set! Really fun build techniques but the best playability of any set we've had. He loves playing through the prisoners escaping under the bed into the tunnel and out to sea in the dingy. Highly recommend this set

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I think Lego is the toy that every kid wants to have. 3yo and 30yo. It makes a lot of fun to built, to put your brain, your fantasy at work. I highly recommend it to everybody.
the designers made sure to include several methods of escape to this lego prison forcing me to place it on a shelf far away form the rest of my lego society in hopes crime can be kept at bay. in was a long but fun build that captures all the things i love when collecting lego sets.
My 4 year old son wanted this for Xmas after seeing it in a flyer and while It is says ages 7 and up I thought "we'll let's get it and see how we do". We sat down one afternoon and I figured we'd do a bag or 2 and then take a break cause he is a fournado and doesn't tend to sit for long lol. Well he didnt want to stop. We worked on it for 3.5 hours start to finish and he LOVES it. There are a lot of super fun features like a trapdoor/tunnel, helicopter, boats, sharks, and his favourite was that they have a toilet to use too lol. While I don't have a lot of recent lego experience I do think that the build experience and play value of this set is excellent. Can't wait to get him another set to build with him. Great way to spend an afternoon with your little one :)
This set is basically Alcatraz and its amazing! my 5 year old got this for his birthday and he has wanted it since Christmas, needless to say he lit up when he opened it. The build was fun and straightforward, and challenging enough where it made him think. Playing with it is super fun and you can do so many different things with it!
Our whole family enjoyed this build, the detail is great with lots of scope for imaginative play with secret escape tunnels and a “Great Escape” style underground escape cart on rails. I think a little more effort has gone into this design compared to other city sets, without losing accessibility for play. The 2 additional boats, helicopter and good selection of minifigures, including a dog means my son has already dreamt up a heap of action packed stories and the set has slotted in nicely with his existing models. Despite being large and detailed it was a straightforward and relatively quick build. However, this kit is nicely portioned out into 10 bags with I think 5 or 6 instruction books so if you wanted to break building into smaller chunks you easily could. Only downside would be that some of the stickers were tricky (the ones that sit inside the recess of a brick) but nothing beyond an adult with a pair of tweezers and a steady hand. Lovely imaginative set though which I think will be a favourite in our house for quite some time. Good work Lego!
This was a really fun build, with a lot of cool little details. Much more intricate than I had expected for a set rated 7+. The cliff base and all of the escape routes were my favourite parts to build. It's also a great value, with the building, 2 boats, and a helicopter included. My 5 year old daughter has been playing with it nonstop
My 6 yr old grandson was blown away with the set and had a blast putting it together. Huge hit!
