Love it

Saxbrick December 24, 2020

I love this set. Got it for Christmas and built it immediately. The features are great and I love the launch control centre. The movement is great. Big fan of this set and the Lego group in general

Really good, but not quite perfect.

Monkeybabyboymummy January 22, 2022

Detailed set which was nice to build. Challenging at the right level for a 6 year old. Described by my son as very creative. However, the only criticism which has been made by others, is the white domed caps for the booster rockets do not stay on at all which is frustrating. If they did fit, then this set would have scored full marks!! It would be good if Lego could review these booster rocket caps.

My son loves it

JonnyStrange February 7, 2021

Myself and 4 year old son love this set. I built it whilst he watched and helped out when he could. The space center is very clever and it looks fantastic when it interacts with your phone. I also love the carts that take the astronauts to the shuttle, and my son loves pushing the carts down it. The shuttle itself is a fun build, and it looks cool when it breaks away from the platform. An additional feature is it got my son talking about space and the moon, and we subsequently watched various children's space videos, and he was asking about the suits and the helmets and space rocks. we both really enjoy it

Great set with small mistake

Gabor1980 January 30, 2021

Hi, I bought this Deep space rocket and launch control set (60228) but the booster rockets' caps (6252260) are just not fit. I tried to turn them around, align the that small "gap" to the rounded plate under them, but they still pop up. Any idea how to fix this?

Space and sadness

pcarlos July 9, 2019

I wanted to buy this set the minute I saw it! I was a Lego space fan so I think Lego had a good idea here. I had a great time building it, wich, by the way, is fairly easy. However, sadness was waiting for me at the end! My set is missing a piece!! At this price I think this is not admissible. This has never happened to me before with Lego sets.

why I like 60228

boywholovestobuild February 4, 2022

The deep space rocket and launch control is a Lego that is fun to build and a nice toy . I like it because it helps children experience building as a beginner.

Highly enjoyable build

HetMes May 15, 2021

It's a great looking set, and fun build. Would recommend to anyone. My son is into rockets, and loved building it together with me, and playing most of all with the rocket and launch pad. However, the noses of the boosters (6252260) really come off way too easily. A kid really can't play with the set without constantly losing them. I mean multiple times per minute. And forget about taking off the boosters or attaching them without those noses coming off as well. It would have been so easy to allow these pieces to connect to an axle piece from the inside for absolutely essential extra build integrity. Our set was also missing a piece (6210385) but one can never really be sure if it wasn't lost during the build.

Could be more realistic

trupik July 13, 2020

I overall like this set but still it feels like a missed opportunity. A lot of the aspects could have been handled better. 1) There is a monorail to get the astronauts next to the rocket, but I don't know how they're supposed to get to the top. Fly maybe? An elevator would make more sense than the monorail, as NASA would probably use a vehicle to get them to the rocket. 2) I have no idea how is this rocket supposed to land. Is it just the capsule that should return to the atmosphere? There are no boosters on the capsule, maybe some parachute? Or the whole rocket without the booster? I hope this is not one of those one way missions... 3) it would be nice if the cockpit would open and close without having to basically took it apart. 4) Booster rocket tops come off all the time as another reviewer already mentioned. Shame because the designer went to some pains to reinforce the bricks with various technic pieces in other places

This package was delivered very damaged. There was a hole where some of pieces most likely fell out during transit. It was a gift for my 10 year old Grandson . I have not seen him in a year because of Covid. I live in Indianapolis and he lives in San Diego. I am so disappointed with Walmart. My son now must drive 20 miles to return it. I will not order toys from Walmart again.
