Amazing set! Extremely detailed! A++++

PhillyCharizard006 December 22, 2020

This set is definitely one of the best sets I've ever purchased. It is extremely detailed all the way down to the columns. The biggest flaw, as most of you may know, is that it is extremely repetitive. You're practically doing the same thing over and over again. I have to admit that as someone with autism, repetition is something I love. That may be why it took less time than I thought to build it. But if you don't mind excessive repetition, this set is definitely for you. The price was phenomenal seeing the amount of pieces it has. You always get more for your money with the Creator Expert Line. Overall, if you're someone who likes architecture and national monuments. This set is definitely for you.

Architectural wonder...not to be rushed.

Legosapien February 17, 2021

After building the Saturn V rocket, I felt the sudden urge to build something bigger that I could take my time over. The Colosseum more than satisfied that urge and reignited my passion for Lego I hadn't had since childhood. Spending a few hours a day for a week kept the interest going and prevented madness setting in over continuous repeated sections. Now that it's complete, I can't help but admire the architectural detail gone into creating this set. The photos and background info of the real Colosseum in the 4 instruction books are a nice touch. Decided to include a few mini figures to the arena to enhance its display.

I recommend this to everyone!

JimboL May 29, 2021

This is the most beautiful, magnificent Lego model I've ever built. Even though a little repetitive, each column is slightly different and the Colosseum grows before your eyes which is very satisfying. The build quality is typical Lego standard - solid! You can pick it up and move it around easily, and there was not 1 piece missing - amazing Lego quality control! This will be a talking point anywhere - buy and build it while you can!

What an amazing build.

Being an avid lover of all things Rome, and Roman history, this was a day one purchase for me. From opening up the box to placing the final piece, this felt like an epic journey the likes of which I've never had before with any other set. The base is amazingly supportive with plenty of Easter eggs embedded into it, with colours representing the Colosseums history and geology. As you start to build the walls of the structure itself, you soon get into that repetition that everyone talks about, but you also understand that it's that same repetitiveness that creates the Colosseums amazing look! (Spare a thought for what the slaves went through). I loved the way this set comes together in sections rather than being built from the ground up, because when you finally join the final section together and complete the oval shaped wonder, it really leaves you in awe of what the designer has accomplished here! For the full experience, I highly recommend finding a good documentary on the Colosseum, and learning about its creation and history, as it will undoubtably give you a greater experience and satisfaction while building this set. I personally absolutely loved building this set, and for me, it was worth every penny! Gratias maximis tibi ago!

A masterpiece

OliCoxOSLC2461 January 11, 2021

This set contains an unmatched quantity of detail and beauty: the qualities of what one can consider a masterpiece. For those who have said this set is ‘too repetitive' or ‘you're only building the same thing 40 times' probably have not viewed the set in real life and taken the time to appreciate this. On the other hand, those who have purchased and constructed this set are able to view the set from 360 degrees, of which all angles share the beautiful design and architecture of the Roman's infamous Colosseum. The plethora of detail like in the hypogeum reassures you that you have created the largest set of all time, and in my opinion, the greatest set of all time. I would recommend this set to anyone willing to take up the challenge of a 15 hour long and arduous build. Do not fear. The accomplishment of constructing this set is far greater than any set I have previously built and really begs the question: how gruelling must construction be for the slaves of Ancient Rome without a manual? For reasons listed above, this set truly deserves the title of the largest Lego set and is a masterpiece just like the 1951 year old Colosseum it portrays. Oli, 13

Superb

BRICKMONKEYUK January 31, 2021

What an excellent (and huge) LEGO piece! The Colosseum had been on my ‘wanted list' since it's initial release, and I eventually got around to buying/building this exceptional set. There is no hiding the fact that this is a repetitive build, and not an overly complex challenge (the piece count and size make this feel complex). It would be very easy to fall into the rhythm of building and not follow the instructions, but with small alterations as each section develops - it keeps you on your toes. The finished item looks spectacular, a magnificent tribute to the real deal! Genuinely recommended for those who appreciate detailed builds, on a big scale!

An amazing build but...

Kieran4396 February 15, 2021

This is truly a one of a kind build and a very long build, pat on the back to the builders for this one. The model from top to bottom is a lovely calm build with some hard parts here and there. Is it repetitive... yes, but in a way which is fun and not boring and long. This Is truly for adults for sure i cant see kids finding this fun. Now! For the bad part, the instructions where a huge downer from start to end, a set this size and price should have a binder kind of instructions and should all be one instruction not four. They got damaged in the single boxes, i have the ucs millennium falcon and i think that's how it should have been. When building the pages where soo small that the instructions got lost at the seam and i often missed part and steps due to this issue, it was a huge let down Lego I don't know how u missed that it is clear as Crystal. But with the negatives aside its truly an amazing set and am glad to have it in my collection and wish for further large lego sets you thing of small details.

Magnificent Display Piece

KaelBrock March 4, 2021

My 5 year old daughter's fascination with Lego recently started and we slowly bought some Lego sets. I was having some much fun with her that I thought of getting a set for myself, something that would be really challenging. What better challenge than the largest Lego set ever created! This was the first Lego set that I've built by myself since I was 12 years old and I loved building it. Now this set is very repetitive and it doesn't start to get really exciting until the larger back half. Going through this build I was in awe of the ingenuity and engineering in order to create such a wonderful masterpiece! I certainly learned a lot about the construction which I hope to bring to my own builds one day. This piece is truly magnificent, and Lego especially with the Creator Expert and Ideas sets have design such amazing details in their beautiful designs. There were a few missing parts and Lego is going to send me them once they clear the warehouse. Lego certainly has top notch service, they might not be fast but they are very accommodating and always look to keep you happy! Since this purchase I've bought another 20+ different sets for the family.

This is an amazing set but if you buy it pls know that it is very repetitive. When it is finished it just looks so amazing. Make sure you take at least a month to build it!
