Parfait!

awesomedawn April 30, 2016

I am not that familiar with building Lego sets, but I love Paris and I love to cook so I wanted to put this in my kitchen/dining area. I LOVE this set! I took to building it like a duck to orange sauce. Apparently I am a hidden Expert builder because I found it easy, addictive, and FUN to build this Paris Restaurant right in my kitchen! I have used it photographically, because I am a photographer, and I have shown it off to my friends - they think I'm nuts anyway so no harm done. If you like to build, this is a great set. (Yes, I am a grandmother and, no, I don't let anyone but me play with it.)

My favourite... so far

Tzynamoon September 24, 2015

This set is simply so likeable that you have to think hard to find any cons. Ok, so I don't have many sets and this was my first modular. It doesn't matter really, because when I pay this much for a toy, I always have second thoughts regardless of its quality. Right here, I have none. This is the first time I can't think of any criteria being less than 5/5. First, the building is yummy. Quite simple really but hey, it's not Technic. Some stages may be monotonous for some people (like tiles, roof, some decorations), but they last for a few minutes and then you start doing something else. From time to time you need to stop building just to marvel at the results. That's why it took me 14 hours. The parts are usually small, but incredibly varied. The colors I like the most are olive green and dark blue. Decorative parts are wonderful. In the kitchen there are so many accessories that you'd cook yourself some dinner straight away, if you were a minifigure. Other useful parts include lots of plants, fences, tiles, windows and of course plenty of different bricks. THERE ARE NO STICKERS. Minifigures are nothing special for me. They just add to the Restaurant's playability which is quite considerable. They can cook, paint, clean windows, chase a rat, ride a bike or drink so many bottles of different brands, just to fall asleep on a nearby bench. I can guarantee you'll keep saving for another modular after getting this one.

Awesome

By far my favorite of the creator series! The details were impressive compared to the others, not a single spot had an "unfinished" look. It was so much fun to build, I went slowly so it wouldn't be over so fast. I even like the green color and how it looks next to the other buildings. I'm anxious to see what they will come up with next!

Unbelievable detail!

Kymmy76 September 9, 2015

My daughter and I have been building Lego for years! I am so thrilled with the detail that goes into the Parisian Restaurant! The Lego designers truly thought of everything. - the kitchen has a tiled floor, a wall of kitchen utensils, stove and fridge that opens. - The inside eating area - has Lego curtains! Seriously - they are made of bricks but I can totally see them swaying in the breeze! There is a wine cabinet too! - The outside seating is adorable and totally PARIS! there is street level seating to "people watch" and an upstairs patio area! - The second level has an apartment with a cute fireplace, stove, table and comfy chair! - Even the back is detailed! An outside cooler - full of food, garbage can and rat! - the attic has a little room for the "starving" art student who painting in Paris! Love it! - The detail in the roof is amazing! - This was an amazing build! My daughter thought of her own story line with the mini figs -the guy is proposing, waiter is bringing wine and the love of his life (the one who got away) come roaring up on her motorbike! We adding a ton of mini figs to fill up the patio and even gave the Artist upstairs a cat! This set is fantastic! If you have built other modulars - this is a must and you will be blown away by the detail. This set is by far our favorite!

This is my first lego set. I like it very much. Its interior and external are very refinement. When I biult it, there were a lot of surprise. It's amazing. I think I will be a lego fan because of it. Could you please open Lego stores in Netherlands? We will be very happy!

Such a delight to build

LEGOfani April 25, 2015

Hi guys, This is the first big LEGO Creator building I've bought (I have The Simpsons' house, Benny's Spaceship, Spaceship, SPACESHIP!, and the tiny toy store), and I love it! I've attached some photos. They have been processed with Photoshop so they are a bit more lively light-wise than the actual building. I've had an almost 30 year gap in my LEGO life, so it is so much fun to have these little "Oh, I remember this construction trick" moments as well as the "Wow, they have these sorts of bricks today!" realisitions. It took me three nights to build the Parisian Restaurant, and all went smoothly. The only part where I had difficulties was the top floor and its gable which I knocked over two times mainly because it got secured to the other walls so late. Also, I have chubby fingers... :D The things I love about this set: The fasade details - a joy to build, and fascinating to look at; the restaurant curtains - the bricks actually, in my eyes at least, mimic the draping of the cloth (not so that it is visible but the way the bricks are layered); the olive colored bricks - what a refined tone; the rat - because I love smart rodents; the opening roof of the atelier; the fact that the minifigures have the basic LEGO face. I also love the color of the "logs" in the fireplaces. The dark chocolaty tone is so beautiful I wish I could find some other set with more of bricks with that color. Last but not least I really appreciate all the ideas and solutions this set gives to my own LEGO buildings - the bed that rises to the wall, the rotating armchair, the decorations inside and out, and one more time: the fireplaces. I think I will not take this building apart but rather modify it to fit the needs of my LEGO heroine and her neighbourhood. Maybe change some of the interior colors etc. The middle floor is perhaps a bit too manly for my heroine's taste... I can wholeheartedly recommend this building to any LEGO and architecture/interior design fan. Thanks for the experience, LEGO folks!

An instant classic

stevesheriw January 10, 2014

After much anticipation, I ordered this on Jan 1. I built this over three days between jobs, and it was a fun experience. What makes this modular different is the amount of detail invested into both the interior and exterior. Ultimately, the building itself is a bit smaller in bulk than the others, however the detail makes up for it. When you open the parts bags, you notice that most of the parts are fairly small. Yet, they come together to make this fantastic creation. The minifigures are basically those you would expect. You have a waiter, a chef, a romantic couple (the guy has a ring), and a lady on a moped. The moped appears new and should be popular. The ground floor has the most detail and space. It features indoor and outdoor seating, just like you would expect in Paris. The restaurant sign and the menu outside are printed tiles. There are many details outside such as the bench, the menu, the croissant left on the table, and flowerpots featuring a new piece. In the back, you have a door and colorful awning leading to a trash can and a dumpster. A rat awaits the content of the dumpster, which is well designed. Inside the dumpster are bones, purple grapes, and two hot dogs. The details are amazing inside as well. The kitchen is completely tiled, as is the main seating area. A few studs are left showing to allow for figure placement. Nice detail is afforded on the lamps, the curtains, the refrigerator, oven, and utensil rack. The great variety of parts here makes the build very interesting. Above the ground floor is a terrace with even more seating. It can be removed to allow for access to the kitchen. An apartment occupies the next floor, and it is detailed as well. Outside are large windows and balconies with flowers. The inside contains a reclining chair, lamp, a Murphy bed, and a kitchen. There is also a nice fireplace with good detail on the inside and out. The top floor contains an artist's studio. The palette and paintbrush are there to add to the highlights. A fireplace/furnace is also on this level, and I really enjoyed the detail on this. The roof is hinged to allow access to this. The details include some interesting pieces such as feathers, shells, and white croissants to give the building a Baroque appearance. Here, you will also find a lot of nice blue curved pieces to make the roof. There are a wide variety of bricks included. The olive green color seems to work well here, along with the greys, blues, and whites. Of course, the leaves and flowerpots really add to the color and outward appearance. In my opinion, this will be a favorite modular for many. It might even convince some people to try building in Lego just to achieve this model. It could be great as a stand alone build, or as part of the modular town. I believe this was worth the effort, and the final result is very pleasing. Some photos have been included to show some details.

Awesome

This is an excellent modular building. A restaurant has been long-needed in the modular building series. What it lacks in size it makes up for in detail. The architectural style and detail, as well indoor and outdoor seating are characteristic of real Parisian restaurants. The interior is also full of details. The back is simple, but not bare. The Even though there is a lot of detail, it is still durable. The inclusion of the printed sign and menu, as well as the moped, was a good idea. The selection of minifigures included is nice. It fits in nicely with other modular buildings. It is a relatively good deal, but I am willing to pay up to 200 USD for something a bit bigger next time.

Stunning......

Jamesstar147 March 7, 2017

I've gone on a bit of a modular fest this last couple weeks after rekindling my modular addiction after putting together the Ghostbusters Firehouse. I've built the pet shop, cinema, the restaurant and assembly square. I'd built the cinema and pet shop years ago when they were first released so got them out of the way first. THIS, is by far my favourite modular to date. The finished model is simply beautiful and I'm completely in love with it. It's the only one I will probably leave a review of. It's very pretty, superb interior and exterior details, is great to play with and looks fabulous on a street. Don't hesitate. If this set disappoints you, you are not a fan of Lego!!

Pretty Parisian

legocathe June 20, 2018

I had a love/hate relationship with this build. I found some of the illustrations a little vague so had some trouble there. Once those hurdles were over, it was a very relaxing to complete. This is the first Creator Expert set I've purchased & built. I think it's now my favorite series & look forward to building more. I was attracted to the look of he restaurant. I thought it was a charming restaurant. As I was building it, I was imagining I was sitting on the patio sipping a glass of wine & watching life go by. I loved the attention to detail. From the dining room to kitchen, second floor apartment to the third floor studio. My favorites have to be the kitchen & fireplaces. The ornamental work on the third floor really makes a statement. It also was very easy to assemble, which I was happy about. I added extra flowers to the flower pots & greenery on the canopy. I also added a small flower basket at the top of the stairs on the second floor, I felt the back was pretty bare so I put a shrub between the windows. I thought the dishwasher would like to look at a little greenery! Now... which set to get next!
