LEGO Creator Expert Winter Holiday Train 10254

We love this Christmas train!! We added some straight track to make it an oval under the tree. My grandson helped me put it together and he really enjoyed the little toys, especially the fire engine with the moving ladder. We already had the power functions since we motorized our Lone Ranger Train so we just used those. The bright colors are delightful and it went together very easily.

Every year my kids can't wait to put up the Lego Winter Village, and this year they are super excited. This train is great for kids of all ages, and adults too. The power functions are a must. Some have commented that they remove colour, which is true, but it is hardly noticeable. It's going to be a lot of fun figuring out how to incorporate this set into the whole village this year.

I just recently started to get into Lego again - and when I ordered the winter village I saw the Winter train and had to get it too. I've built it in a bit over 2 hours - and have been sitting driving my train in circles for another half hour, as the tree spins so nicely when the train is moving... ;) I love the details and how many little extras come with it - I would definitely purchase it again and am very, very happy with it!

This is the first time I bought a train from Lego. When I unboxed the package I understood why. There is no electrical power included. It's a good thing though because my son is able to interact directly with his new toy ! This product is perfect for the Chrismas Holiday. It's perfectly fit with all your decorations and could be playable along with any other sets. My son loved it and I was really impressed by the construction quality and engineering behind this product. The only thing that could be improved is to add something more to the landscape. Maybe a couple of trees or something like that. It's a MUST if you love Christmas !!!!

I love the train set and building was ok until I tried to incorporate power during the build...the instructions do not allow for adding power during the build only afterwards..not sure why? Trying to use the aftrer build instructions with the actual building instructions did get me very confused lol..but it was the first time I have added power to anything so I guess that did not help. The train set looks great though and runs well.

After reading the other reviews, I will be getting the power packs to go with this train. Will be wonderful for the holidays. One thing I would recommend is that the train track instructions says to throw away the "nails" holding the tracks together. If you do not display this all year, saving those nails will keep the tracks in tack until ready for use again. I enjoyed building this train and look forward to my next holiday build which is the Winter Village. Great to use these two sets together!

This set is super! My first Lego train,and it's been fun to play with,I also bought the motorized accessories,and they really complete the set.I bought more track and the switching tracks,a circle isn't enough. The spinning tree is great,but took me a few tries to get it working properly.The fit for the motor also took some work to get it to spin freely.Well worth the money,fun to build,and set up.Lots of little details,just what I've come to expect from Lego.

Great Christmas set, especially with all the electrics set up. Obviously you don’t get much play opportunity with a simple circular track, but it doesn’t make for a great display around the Christmas Tree during the loves festive period. I wanted a Lego set that would look great during Christmas time and I think this set is perfect for that. Friends and family always comment how great it looks. Goes very well with the more recently released train station which comes with more track offering a bit more playability. Love it

Lego made a beautiful winter train set. It looks good and gives the feeling of the holidays. If you want to motorize it with Power Functions and want to add more rail cars. You should place the motor under the tender and not under the engine (watch photo below). The motor slips over when the motor is placed under the engine. Lego proposes in the building instructions but in my opinion it is not a good idea. Happy Holidays and have fun with the (motorized) Winter Holiday Train

The train was fairly simple to build and definitely has playability and looks great displayed also. I have not connected the train to motor functions but I'm sure it would make a great toy train for older children. The train runs freely along the tracks and the Christmas tree rotates while the train is moving. Smart and fun!
