I missed out on the last Disney Castle set (71040) a few years ago, but luckily I was able to get this one that was initially meant to celebrate Disney's 100th, and this has to be one of the best sets I've ever gotten to build. The attention to detail on the front and inside of the castle is miraculous. As with the minifigures, while it would've been nice to also include Mickey Mouse and co. to go with it, the inclusion of some of the prince and princesses were also a nice bonus. The highlight for me was expanding on the set itself for a full display after completing it. In my case, for photo purposes, I included the Celebration Train (43212), the TV from the Animation Scenes set (40774), Tinker Bell flying around the inner part of the cadtle with her wand, and made a platform showing off most of my other Disney and Disney-affiliated (i.e. Star Wars, Bluey) minifigures from other sets, including Walt himself from the Disney Tribute Camera set (43230). All in all, this set is a must for Disney fans, and also for movie lovers everywhere!
I always wanted the previous Disney castle but never ended up actually purchasing. I heard this one was coming out and I just had to have it. The build took me about as long as it took to build assembly square 6 Hours or so. There are SO many details to the castle it's just beautiful. I was hesitant about the pink, light flesh tone of the upper castle but in the end grew in it and there is tons and tons of gold. I'm my opinion it is more open and bigger than the previous castle so I think it's a better option. I just had to get the mini castle for it!
I am reasonably new to building lego and this was my biggest build and honestly the most amazing, therapeutic building experience ever. The castle itself is absolutely beautiful and if your a Disney lover like me then all the little details and nods to the Disney films are truly magical, I have become a lego addict.
We built this castle over the course of a few weeks, doing 1-2 bags per day. Instructions are very clear, even for inexperienced builders. Now that the castle is finished we enjoy looking at it and occasionally playing with it. One of our favourite things was finding and building all the secret Disney references. The castle is a real eye catcher for visiting family and friends.
As soon as I saw the promo video they made for this Castle two weeks ago, I was excited and excited at the same time !! So I couldn't resist and bought it from the first day of its release !! It's very impressive and beautiful !! It's worth noting that up close it is HUGE!!! From the photos however, it looks smaller in size!! In total I spent about 23 hours at a slow pace in three days !! 😁😁 The process was pleasant and fun !! As for the Disney 100 year gift it's great and cute !!! Worth buying it !!
This version of the Castle is a little more faithful to the Cinderella Castle in Orlando. Colors are more accurate and the towers looks way better. It is not huge upgrade compared to the previous version but from the front it looks better. The older one, however has a better ground floor in my opinion. It is more ornate and elaborate. The new version is more like an open space for ballroom dancing. My daughter is crazy about Magic Kingdom and since we went to visit the park this earlier this year, it was the perfect momento to correlate with the 100th anniversary. I built the bottom and she built the top part. For some reason that I can't pinpoint, I did enjoy more the building experience. Now both castles sit on top of the fireplace.
Bought for Christmas. Wanted the old one for a long time and didn't want to miss out again. So glad I did. Really impressive and enjoyable building experience. Love all the tiny details . Also pruchased the Disney Celebration Train set to get characters like Mikey Minnie and tinker bell. Looks truly magical with some cheap wire lights I found.
This is by far my favorite build so far. It took me a total of 16 hours over two days. Each part of the build was better than the last. It is a beautiful castle and one that I'm glad I didn't miss out on!!
We got this set for Christmas and spent three days building it. It was a challenging set to build but we had fun doing it. It is also fun to play with and display. Everyone that comes to our house comments about how cool this set is.
I had a great & very enjoyable time building this castle. I loved seeing how different items were made with pieces I wouldn't have thought to use. I was a bit sad I had built it in 3 days, I wanted more.
