This was bought as a present, was looking forward to building this until I got out the instructions ! Printed on black not the best idea Lego have come up with, it makes it very hard to see very dark brown and black and I kept missing these colours. Other than that the build was fun and the waffle maker and beds were a good idea, though I would have liked the reindeer to have been like the others in the winter village sets. The one in this does not go. Leave in the Harry Potter sets. The elf club house does look good with Santa's workshop . Though I would of liked a printed computer brick rather than a white gold bar. Otherwise good build look forward to next winter set
I bought this for my (nearly) 30-year old daughter as she wasn't sure what else she wanted for Christmas. She has had so much fun building it. I kept getting updates by text, with each one more excited than the last. Possibly the best present I've ever bought anyone.
Overall this product was fantastic, it took a while to build which I love (the fun lasts) there's so many interactive parts once built like the tipping beds, bedroom light and pancake dispenser inside the chimney they are great fun for both children and adults. I'm over the moon with the final look and this set will take pride of place amongst my Christmas decorations. I only wish I had bought the other Christmas sets before they retired. I would 100% recommend this Lego set to everyone :P
I treated myself to this to go with the Gingerbread House I was brought last Christmas. Although it arrived after Christmas I still built it straight away. My 6yr old daughter had fun helping to make the elves and then played for ages with them along with the reindeer and sleigh. Will look great at Christmas alongside the Gingerbread House. I'm sure if you do anymore like these my husband will look at me and say “You're going to get that aren't you” and of course the answer will be “YES”. I preferred the roof attachment of this set to the Gingerbread one but like others did not like the black background of the instructions.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Great build, the play value is fun for kids, its such a peaceful set with a beautiful looking house
The most unique aspect of this set is within the chimney. When you move the lever,it drops a round cookie or pancake, onto the frying pan below. Then you can rotate the frying pan to flip it out. Great set

This Lego set is SO CUTE!!!! I bought the light kit to go with it which makes it even more adorable. Was going to only keep it up for Christmas, but it's so cute that I'm keeping it up in my office, with my other Lego builds, year round.
I was so excited when I saw this year's Christmas Lego set - the Elf Workshop. It was built by my 7 year old son - who isn't a whizz at Lego (except the chimney which I built as he wanted a surprise about the waffle maker) so it is definitely not an 18+ build. It has some great features - my son loved the balcony with a telescope and the elves falling out of the bunk beds. I love the hobbit style front door and we both love the waffle maker. It would have more playability if the rooms were slightly larger. It's a bit tight to move the elf figures around. Would have preferred more difference between the four elves who look very similar. The roof was much easier to build and attach compared to last year's gingerbread house. My son loved the Christmas lights & couldn't wait to attach them. Overall a great Christmas Lego set. And perfect to go on our hot chocolate bar alongside our gingerbread Lego house and our gingerbread cookie jar. Ps Lego please avoid a black background in the instructions booklet - it's impossible to read some of it and I'm sure it doesn't pass essential disability access requirements.
I started to build this set today ( a week before Christmas) and it was missing all the stickers. Very disappointing as I know that the replacements will not be here before Christmas. I also have to agree with all the other reviews about the colour of the pages in the instruction booklets. Black pages make it extremely hard to see the dark pieces and figure out how things go together. What little of the house I have built, it does look like it will be really cute.
