LEGO Everyone is Awesome 40516

I bought this for my autistic granddaughter who is 6. I have never come across a set that immediately I thought she could do that she did it with ease one I had started her off, her favourite thing is order the colours and figures done this for her and she took great pride in her efforts.

This was a delight to build being visually impaired. I know the coloured figures and bricks have specific meanings, but this was an accessible and calming build.

Yes, the build it pretty straightforward. But the end result is a really fun display piece that adds a nice pop of color. I swap out the figures every so often for different color-coded themed displays. Right now it features a rainbow of Clone legions! (Though, Lego, please release a Pink clone in a Rebuild the Galaxy set! It's the only one missing from the rainbow. My poorly printed Fox is a stand in for now, but a proper one would be very fun!)

I bought this for myself and it's a pretty basic build, but that's why it's so good. My kids love tinkering with it and I can easily reset it when they're done.

Bright colors always get my attention. The sleek design is unique and fun to build. I like the end result with no studs visible. Different hair on each minifig lends to a perceived "personality" and that is fun. Enjoyed building this set and enjoy seeing it everyday.

While I do enjoy this set, I wish we were provided the proper pieces to rearrange the colors the way you want. Black and pink are the only colors that allow the edges to be a solid color. That was disappointing.

I only purchased this set because I love lego and people. I appreciate that both positive and negative reviews are listed here - some of the negative reviews actually prompted this purchase, and I feel like the set has a much greater value than simply the cost of the set... I think it would be great to create a bookend for this set where the figures are fleshed out as actual representatives - maybe they are celebrity or political likenesses or simply more like the collectable minifigure packs. I did feel like some parts were a tighter fit than I expected.

This was a fairly simple build. However, other LEGO sets I've built organized the pieces in the bags so that you had all the pieces you needed first in bag 1, then the next group of pieces in bag 2, and so on. This set did not have that organization, with pieces scattered across 5 small bags. I spent just as much time looking for bricks as building the set. But, now that it's complete, it's part of my daily office background, and I love having more stuff to emphasize that everyone is awesome.

Bought as a birthday present, therefore not yet gifted. Purchased due to the bright colours and ease of building. Don’t understand the 18 age recommendation. Looks great.
