LEGO Harry Potter Hogwarts Moment: Potions Class 76383 Brick-Built Playset (270 Pieces)

As a big Harry Potter fan i was on the fence initially about these books. I knew I would get them but I wasn't sure if I was really in love with them. One plus point for me is that each Moment is based around a class that is related to one of the houses and this reflected in the minifigures included and the overall colour choices for the book. Potions - Slytherin The book itself is quite small and falls somewhere between A6 and A5 when compared to actual paper sizes. I did think they would be slightly larger based on the box size. However, there is so much detail included in each classroom that I found I soon overcame the slight disappointment I felt on their size. The Potions Class opens up to a full classroom scene that relies on it being laid out on a play surface. Incorporating a blackboard with potion ingredients, shelving with a range of supplies and a host of little bits and pieces. Of course it has some classroom furniture so Professor Snape can teach Seamus and Draco. The way this particular Classroom is constructed means it splits in to 2 separate areas and this is really effective. The detailing on the "spine" wall is exceptional and even incorporates a nice stylised snake. I was surprised at how snuggly everything fits back in to the book so that you can fold everything away in true playset fashion. Unfortunately, the minifigures do not fit in to the closed book so they do stand a high chance of being separated from the set. My favourite display option is to have it open as the full book. If you have all 4 of the series they do link together in to a circle which makes for a fun look. It does take up a surprising amount of space though. Overall an entertaining take on the Harry Potter franchise that was fun to build and offers a good balance between playability and display. Love this. Not quite as great as the herbology class maybe because Snape was standing over me frowning throughout. Small error with the instructions did not impact experience and all parts are present. 3 classes down, charms to go!

Enjoyed clipping this together and bought the four I could find. Pity the other two were deleted , but makes a great display

This set is the right size to be able to display classroom moments in your collection. Also the Severus minifig is adorable

Oh my gosh. This is awesome. I'm 29 yo and this is my first lego EVER. I dreamt to have any but my parents could not afford it when I was a kid. I looove Harry Potter and I love you, Lego. This is magical. Thank you

I was really uncertain when the kids picked out these sets instead of others that I thought would be better value - but I was wrong! These sets are incredibly well designed with all sorts of elements that are built in or nest inside the book. If your kids like to play with their lego mini figs and not just build, I would highly recommend these. My girls are 9 and 10 and are saving up for the next 2 sets.

From the moment I saw these i was so excited, and they delivered! I was most excited about the Potions, and it is my favorite. They have captured a scene in an extremely playable and displayable set. They are a little smaller than I anticipated, but the features that fold out and expand create many opportunities for fun. Love the Finnigan figure, the bottles and the archway. I cant wait to see some MOCs using the book shell. Ingenious how everything folds back into the book. Get one (or all four) and have fun showing people how they all come apart and fold out to create a scene.

Overall, the set was great. Unfortunately, however, two steps in the instructions were wrong. Step 9 shows 2 brown flat pieces, but only one fits for it to work correctly. Step 55 shows 2 hinges needed but, again, only one is used. Just an FYI for future builders!

Overall, this is one of the most atmospheric of these fold-out book sets; I really love the aesthetic and the mini figures. The only drawback is that the side that you don't see on the pictures are very bland, just gray walls. This set could have used another sheet of stickers to spice up the left-side of the build. However, even with all that, I would still recommend it to Harry potter fans.

Great set snd fun build but even my daughter commented that quality is degrading. Mini fig outfits are cracking after a couple of weeks of play
