As a big Harry Potter fan i was on the fence initially about these books. I knew I would get them but I wasn't sure if I was really in love with them. One plus point for me is that each Moment is based around a class that is related to one of the houses and this reflected in the minifigures included and the overall colour choices for the book. Herbology - Hufflepuff The book itself is quite small and falls somewhere between A6 and A5 when compared to actual paper sizes. I did think they would be slightly larger based on the box size. However, there is so much detail included in each classroom that I found I soon overcame the slight disappointment I felt on their size. The Herbology Class opens up to a full classroom scene that relies on it being laid out on a play surface. Incorporating an indoor and an outdoor area with various plants and equipment. Of course it has some classroom furniture so Professor Sprout can teach Cedric and Neville. I am not a big fan of minifigures in general but I really enjoy the special prints on these and the inclusion of earmuffs for dealing with those pesky mandrakes. I was surprised at how snuggly everything fits back in to the book so that you can fold everything away in true playset fashion. Unfortunately, the minifigures do not fit in to the closed book so they do stand a high chance of being separated from the set. My favourite display option is to have it open as the full book. If you have all 4 of the series they do link together in to a circle which makes for a fun look. It does take up a surprising amount of space though. Overall an entertaining take on the Harry Potter franchise that was fun to build and offers a good balance between playability and display. This is a big favourite for me but I think the Slytherin Classroom just pips it to favourite set award. Number Of Pieces: 233 Approximate Price Per Piece: £0.12 Build Time: 40 Minutes
I gave myself all 4 “Moments” for my birthday this year and I could not be happier. The 4 sets are great. They are an easy build, with some very nice details. I especially like the Herbology Class. The fact that there is a mandrake is awesome. The pumpkin patch and water fountain are cool details. However, the fact that the book opens to form a greenhouse is just amazing! I am really in love with these sets! Thanks LEGO for making a Harry Potter/LEGO fan the happiest muggle in these trying times!
Loved building this piece, so much so that I'm going to get all of the classrooms. I love how it slots together and becomes a book. Really cute features. Highly recommended for all you HP fans and Hufflepuffs out there. Even muggles or nomaj can manage!
All 4 of these new sets are great and the design is superb. They all have their own unique features which really add to the playability. Also a good point for adults is that you can spread out the sets into an area that is easily playable with adult fingers and not have to try and reach into child only sized playsets. There is however a printing defect in the Herbology instructions on page 26. Sticker 7 is shown upside down in the instructions and the leaves are pointing up instead of down. It's not something that is obvious and doesn't affect the play. That aside, I love these sets, both open and closed and I hope that more are added to the collection in the future. A Defence against the dark arts room, or the kitchen with house elves, or even Myrtle's bathroom!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My 9-year-old son put this together in just under an hour. He loves the Hogwarts Herbology Class-book Lego set. I love that it folds into a book and can sit on the shelf, I wish all Legos folded up and stored this easy! Last spring during the start of the pandemic his teacher read Harry Potter to his class over the computer and now this teacher his 4th-grade teacher is reading it to his class this year so this is a special set that means a lot to him. The playability isn't just re-enacting the scenes from the book but also building stories and adding his other Legos to it. He is interested in the other sets as well so we will be looking at those when his birthday comes up.
When initially I saw which Class Books there was, this wasn't one I was going to get as I wasn't that fussed with Herbology. However, upon seeing this set, Lego won me over. It is fantastic and the best Class Book set along with Potions. Love the detail and it stands alone as a display well too. It's charming and fun, well done Lego.
This is by far my favourite of the four books set. A real greenhouse! A real herbology book page! (actually two, because there's one in the book as well) and Sprout! The design is really lovely, bringing out all that makes a Herbology Classroom. I'd have had more vines (the Venomous Tentacula, obviously), and pots and all, of course, but as a fold-in book this one is really great. One can always add more green :P Thank you really very much for this one, Lego!
Great product a must have for HP collectors. Love how the book folds up an you can fix the mini figs to the top for display. Could be improved by placing the stickers inside the instruction book so that they remain flat and are thus easier to work with.
I think this is the best and most special out of the four Hogwarts Moments sets, and I absolutely adore it. The way the middle part builds and folds is quite fun, and there are many little bits and pieces to explore, which all work well together and create a good glasshouse atmosphere. The little ear muffs for the figures are a nice new addition, too. I am not such a fun of many little, free-standing parts; so it would have been nice if the water basin had been attachable to the main book.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I really enjoyed this set as it had alot of cool and interesting pieces. I loved the characters included that makes the set fun even after it is built. It was an intermediate skill level to build which makes it great for adults and children. It is definitely a set every Harry Potter fan should have in their collection. It has a great base (the book) and plentiful extra pieces to make play fun and long lasting. I truly appreciated the detail that was put into the design of this set.
