I have built many Lego sets over the years, and with a doubt, this set is the most enjoyable, clever, and mind-blowing sets I have ever built. There were countless moments while building it that said (out loud) "That's genius" or "Unbelievable" or These guys who designed this are on another level" Take for example the stair case. The way it's built, then rotated into the proper display position left me with jaw agape. The stone wall to obscure the hidden escape, while simple, fit into a spot where I had previously said in the build, "What's this for?" and then fast forward 50 steps, and I discovered why. Another example of incredible technique is on the chimney. Early in the build, a very small gap is left in the wall. I wondered why. Fast forward 100 steps, and it's revealed that structural support (a buttress or sorts) goes there! Mindblowing! To the designers, the team and all of LEGO; well done. A+ Perhaps more of these style sets are on the horizon! Please! Take my money!
The Lion Knights’ Castle is an absolute masterpiece and my all-time favorite LEGO set. The attention to detail is incredible, from the working drawbridge and hidden passages to the bustling courtyard full of life. Building it felt nostalgic yet fresh, and the sheer scale makes it a true display piece. It perfectly captures the magic of classic LEGO castles while elevating it with modern design. Truly the crown jewel of LEGO history!
If someone told me they were only allowed to buy a single Lego set, then this is without a doubt the one I'd tell them to get. I have built cars, modular buildings, animals, and ships, and out of the 20 or so sets I have built, this is far and above the most amazing set I have built. The variations of advanced building techniques, the hidden surprises in the nooks and crannies, the multitude of minifigures and accessories, left me smiling throughout the week I spend building and savoring it like a kid on Christmas. If I had any suggestions for improvement, it is a very minor one - adding additional connection points would help keep the main segments together when opening and closing the castle pieces while moving them around for play. Wonderful set!
When I saw that this set was coming out I just had to have it. Its a very expensive set but it is big and comes with a lot of parts. I never had any castle sets as a child but remember them fondly so it was good to have such a nice set in the theme. The castle can be opened up to give better access for play or can be closed which I feel is how it looks best. The way the castle opens up and the walls move is almost like magic, its such a good build. It took quite a long time to make but the build was lots of fun and the instructions are excellent. Its taken a while to get around to doing a review but over the time I've had it I've enjoyed collecting extra mini figures and adding them to the castle. I think my only small issue is the ramp up to the main door. Its a basic slope so has no studs to attach anything. I feel this could have been improved.
LEGO really knocked it out of the park with this one, and clearly brought their engineering A-game to design this castle. Fully functioning drawbridge and portcullis, moving watermill, secret passage wall, mechanical side gate, hidden trapdoor, and the whole thing opens up to access individual rooms and folds back up into a very awesome-looking medieval castle. For whatever reason, my 5-year old daughter kept asking me where the toilet is in the castle (I didn't think there'd be one). But, lo and behold, sure enough LEGO designed a privy into the castle wall just like a real medieval stronghold would have, and even had a brown piece to go on the ground underneath it which gave me more than a chuckle. Fantastic job, whoever designed this one.
I have a lot of old castle sets from when I was younger - most of them Black Knights. But this set is truly outstanding, even compered to old sets, which I love. Only thing that I would change is a ramp to the gate. It's not as grand as everything else. :)
Its a cool collection. I appreciated how well it was packaged and it showed up on time.
I love all the edges and groves! I love how it all just fits together and is so very sleek, a LOT of design went into this build. Overall love this set!!!!!!!!!
Its an incredible set and I love it but for how much it costs I wouldn't expect to be missing as many pieces as it does luckily I've had spares and such but it shouldn't be missing any at all
I didn’t realize how much Wal-mart up charged me.
