Lego Icons of Play 40634 buildable toy set

I purchased this Lego soccer set for my 2 grandsons(ages9&11) for Christmas. They are both soccer players and enthusiasts. They were delighted with their gift to build and use together.

I loved that Lego was able to pay homage to a great moment in women's sports. Loved the build and the great attention to making the minifigs looks like members of the team. Would have loved to have included the whole team though. But a fun set to celebrate a team that made headlines and history.

I was so excited to see such great players in an official set! I purchased on sale and built just in time for the World Cup. The set is fun to play with, I removed the large white plate over the stadium section to reveal the nice detail. The jumping fans is a fun feature. This would make a fun double set for a full pitch if it was not as expensive.

My sons absolutely loved this set, it's great for football fans. It was easy enough for them to build together, and it offers hours of fun to play mini football. It also comes with a great variety of characters.

Kids loved it, got them even more into the fifa wwc. Playability is fantastic and as the main builder loooooved the crowd movements. Makes Me want to get the table football set real bad

The set i always dreamed for! Finally we have a Lego set about women football! Great minifigures of great players Megan Rapinoe, Yuki Nagasato, Sam Kerr, A. Oshoala! ❤️ Always wanted to add them in my collection! Set is perfect for play and collection! Many amazing minifigures! Small minus, that you need two to make whole stadium! But i definitely gonna buy the second one! Best set of 2023! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️Great addition for our Women's world cup 2023 AU/NZ celebration! Love it!

When I was younger, I had a Lego football pitch and a Zinedine Zidane minifigure and used to play with it a lot, always wishing there was a women's football one. So when I saw this, I knew I had to get it despite some underwhelming reviews. I have to say, I'm glad I did and I don't agree that it is poor value - especially on sale. There are lots of fun details here - the little drinks bottles, the rotating TV camera, the VAR screen, the moving goal keeper, the crowd that bobs up and down, and the numbers can be changed on the scoreboard too. There is a diverse range of minifigures in the crowd and you can choose from different hairstyles to customise them and the players. All these little details brought a right smile to my face. It took me probably a couple of hours to build, so would probably keep a child busy for a bit longer than this. It's not too difficult, although the mechanism for the crowd may be a bit fiddly for younger children. I am pleased with my purchase and delighted to finally have some of my favourite female players represented in Lego form! Would love some of the England players next...!

I don't write reviews but felt compelled to here. I really don't understand the negative reviews. My boys (9 and 12) have enjoyed this set! I'll start by saying that it was a quick build and overpriced for what it was, as a build. But that said, I kind of expect that for a collab, which this essentially is. I got it on sale and I'm not complaining. My kids have been wanting a sports stadium to add to their Lego city, and also happen to be soccer fans, so this worked great. We do follow the women's national team so it is fun knowing the players. But really they could use the field, stands and concessions for football as well, if they wanted to make a few modifications (they will probably switch off). Overall happy with this set.

I don't usually write reviews, but I feel the other reviewers were talking more about how it's not an updated version of an old set than reviewing the actual set. People also seem to be rating it low on playablity because it's basically not a Subbuteo set. It's LEGO. Use your imagination to play with it! This set has got a LOT of mini figures (15!!) with several spare hair pieces. The build is colourful and has some nice details like the moving fan seats and score counters. Ok, it does seem odd to only have half the pitch, but the by the time you've built it up it's a decent sized space. It's also pretty cool that Lego are featuring female athletes, referees and a manager. Some of Lego's other sets could take note...

How can you possibly call this the icons of soccer, male or female, without including the GOAT Canadian Christine Sinclair?
