LEGO Ideas 21320 Dinosaur Fossils Building Kit (910 Pieces)

We bought these at the start of the UK lockdown for our dinosaur mad 5 year old and to please the archaeologist in me. Build time was estimated as he took an hour here and there over the last few months to put them together. The full set really is something to behold! He loves it! The addition of the minifigures is a nice little touch. As a play experience, sure he can't play with them afterwards but he really likes having them up in his room. Instructions are easy to follow although little hands came in quite handy when putting it together, I found some bits tricky to secure (my only use when it comes to building), but then he's a better builder than I am anyway! Would absolutely recommend this set, even if you have a younger builder, as long as you are happy with them having the smaller pieces and you both have some patience!

I have been eyeing this kit up for a month or so and decided the time was right to get it and build it. Definitely not one that would be hanging out in my stash for a while, in fact it probably only had to wait a fortnight until work pressures eased so I could build again. First off, I expected these to be rigid models when completed but they are pretty well articulated which allows them to be posed a little bit on your display. Also the models look much better in person than they do on the pack art - always a bonus. My favourite is the Pteranadon although Lego Sapiens always gives me a chuckle. You would think that a set like this would have no stickers. Well, you would be wrong. Sadly all the name plates are created via stickers which was a bit of a downer but I got over myself and attached them. Surprisingly large when completed they are definitely a statement piece. I knwo that the images show dimensions but until you have them built you don't realise how impressive they look. Just keep them out of sunlight unless you want a weathered look to your bony builds. This is definitely in the top 5 Ideas set released to date. It is very well designed. The detailing is amazing. It has virtually no repetition. The biggest flaw is that the T-Rex's head doesn't stay up. But, overall, it was so much fun to build. It's definitely recommended for any Lego or dinosaur lover.

The product includes three dinosaur fossils, two Minifigures and one small kit. The only problem is that almost all the bricks are white, which may cause some difficulties in finding bricks. Overall, 4.5 points in my mind.

This is the most amazing set we have from Lego. We are currently learning about dinosaurs and purchased the Lego Fossils as part of our studies. Our 7 year old has built the set on his own and has enjoyed it very much. The attention to detail is fantastic and the models look great on their display stands. The heads and tails move realistically and T-Rex's jaw drops!

Pros: Good design, especially with light brown color between white bones. After the building you get a nice collection of fossil dinosaurs. The mini figures and the tools are over expectations. I makes you feel like you own a small dinosaur museum. Cons: the fossils are fixed on the stage, and the pure white color makes it a bit harder to find the pieces to build.

Bought this for my 7yrs old son. This was is first proper Lego set and I am so glad I did buy it. We used it as 30min a day activity time before Bed and after school reading. It worked like a magic! He could follow the instructions really well, had no difficulty putting all three together. No complain... He is so excited for his next Lego set... He thinks he is going to get Star Wars exclusive set for Christmas! Lol. I hope there are more 3 in 1 sets in the future. I recommend anyone who who wants to get into Lego.. start here!

These were awesome to build, absolutely fun to play with (if you choose to), and fab for display. They were a conversation starter, including with the post-people who managed to glimpse at them while delivering the posts. I've yet to see anything Lego dinosaur-y as good as this one.

I bought this for my son (age 6) knowing full well that it was recommended for 16+. This is a terrific set that challenged him for a few sessions over two days. Overall i would consider this a great set, however there are a couple of minor quibbles. The ribs of the triceratops and tyrannosaurus are quite difficult to get right and move out of place easily. The posing options for the same two models are very limited, especially for the t-Rex, whose head is quite heavy for the single ball-socket connector used. None of this is to say that this isn't a top notch set and it definitely looks brilliant when built.

This is a fantastic display set that many of my visitors at first have not realised was made from Lego. It was enjoyable to build but did have a few fiddly sections. I was certainly glad to purchase this set after being impressed by it when it was announced.
