Excellent and imaginative. I hope they do more of these sets. For 300+ it could have included a D20 like the one shown on the box. Otherwise it's really a fun build, slightly delicate compared to similar builds. The dragon is everything. We added the mini figures that were sold separately to flesh it out.
Absolutely fantastic set! Really fun to build, and gorgeous to look at. I've added the D&D mystery mini figures to my little display, and a couple extra flowers from the botanical sets. Proudly sat next to some of my D&D stuff. I absolutely adore this set, and I really hope LEGO create more Dungeons and Dragons sets in the future!
The Dungeons & Dragons: Red Dragon's Tale is a great LEGO Ideas/D&D set, jammed pack with lore from the Forgotten Realms to expected LEGO charm and wit sprinkled throughout. My only nitpick is the sizing for the In Plain Sight Inn wish it was a bit bigger than the standard, including certain sections of the build that if you so choose; can use this set as a actual D&D game (Red Dragon's Tale adventure book sold separately.) and that's great but I do understand if it was any bigger we'd be spending more than the price listed.
The set itself is amazing the minifigs are amazing with ther customization the beholder displaced beast and dragon all look great and the downloadable book is also amazing all together the set is worth buying I only had one problem which I now is very nitpicki and it really isn't a problem but in my opinion the dragon is so hard to actually be placed on the set it's a minor flaw in my opinion but other then that I love everything else
I'm primarily a collector of Star Wars lego sets, but seeing as I am also a big D&D fan and DM I could not resist this set. And I am overjoyed that I did. The set was a blast to build, seeing all the details that went into it everywhere. It's clear that whoever designed this has a great love for D&D and fantasy. Not only the buildings but the monsters as well are designed very well. It was a great building experience and the color combinations were a breath of fresh air from all the mostly grey Star Wars sets I normaly build. It's also a great display piece and easily my new favorite lego set I own. The fact that there's an adventure module included is an amazing idea and I look forward to running it with my friends in the nearby future. Can't recommend this set enough. Only downside I can name is the T-shaped pieced used to secure the fabric to the dragons wings, a more subtle solution would have been preferable but oh well.
While this set certainly is pricey, the sheer amount of detail and charm that is packed in this astounding. I love the amount of little nooks and crannies where you place creatures, treasures or traps. The minifigs are lovely (the Dragonborn is my favourite!) but the real showstopper here is the red dragon. This whole set was a blast to put together and looks fantastic to display next to my D&D sourcebooks. Highly recommended!
I haven't finished building yet, more than halfway there. I've been playing an irl campaign with friends over the last few months and used basic lego and DnD Minis for many of the encounters. Decided to gift myself this for Xmas. I highly recommend the set if you plan to use it to leap-frog other stories and campaigns. The one-shot provided is decent, a bit simple and a small bit childish despite the set being rated 18+. It's great if you wanted some monsters and characters to bank away for your players to face further down the line, and some cool environments and dungeons.
Excellent set with a tons of secrets for dungeons and dragons fans! It is a fantastic set and was an absolute joy to build imo. Just keep in mind that the dragon isn't held in place to the set via studs or anything so you'll need to carefully pose it yourself (which is feasible). And that the set is gigantic but doesn't have excess room in the interiors so do with that what you will. But if you are fine with that than I 100% recommend especially for fans of dungeons and dragons or the forgotten realms.
I love D & D and just recently got back into legos. This was an absolute blast to build. So many hidden things in this build. Instructions were spot on.
it is a very good interesting and interactive build though to improve it should come with a physical campaign and the unseen pieces should be brightly coloured so they are easier to be seen when building but overall an excellent product
