[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was sent this LEGO Ideas Mineral Collection set and immediately knew exactly who it was for I gifted it to a friend who's completely obsessed with crystals and also loves LEGO, so it was a total no-brainer. He absolutely loved it. The set does a brilliant job of showcasing the vibrant colours and natural beauty of different minerals in a really creative, buildable way. The finished models look amazing as display pieces, especially with the little shelf units. It's such a unique and thoughtful gift idea for adults, especially if they're into geology, crystals, or just enjoy mindful building projects. Honestly, it's one of those sets that looks just as good on display as it is fun to build.

Fun to make, not too hard but not super easy. Neat to see pieces used in non-traditional way. The colour mixes were fine to sort and made the minerals look awesome (and true to nature). I hope Lego make some bigger individual ones to collect.

I purchased this set while we were on vacation. We had just finished seeing a mineral display at the Natural History Museum of Los Angeles County. My daughter is all about minerals and I purchased this for the both of us. The build is fun and it was fun reading about the minerals in the instructions. Definitely recommend getting this set.
I'm a little obsessed with crystals, diamond and gems, and translucent Lego pieces. So this is actually one of my favourite sets as a centrepiece of my collection. Recommend to anyone even remotely interested in shiny rocks.
This is a very pretty display set. I enjoyed putting it together and it looks good with my other Lego display models. I also like the new paper parts bags as I can turn them into origami boxes to keep spare bits in.
Not a challenging build, nice looking kit. Instructions are bad. Colors are hard to understand. Use the digital instructions. Took 5 years from concept to kit. Slow.
I really enjoyed this build. The amethyst, watermelon tourmaline and rhodochrosite are very beautiful. In the booklet write up about the creator it mentioned a "emerald" which made me curious as it isn't included in the build. It appears that the blue tourmaline was replaced with the watermelon tourmaline. I was ok with this change. It also appears that the fluorite was used to replace the emerald. To me this was a big disappointment
Box was badly damaged. Seems to have been squished and opened then resealed with clear scotch tape to fit inside shipping package. Very unsatisfied with this purchase as it was a surprise gift to someone close.
