This is my favourite set that I have built. I loved all the different details, I especially appreciated the hidden ones. The bee was a little fiddly and the app was more helpful to complete bee compared to the book. Once built, it is colourful and lovely to look at, as well as a great talking piece for visitors.
Absolutely love this set and each of tge elements in it. Great fun to build and looks amazing when built!
This set is so unique and well thought out. It includes references to various important moments in scientific history, along with features that can spur conversations about science, math, physics and technology. There are a few very clever hidden Easter eggs here too!
So many tiny details make this set unique and brilliant. I choose to keep the Morse code and color spectrum displayed. I simply took the cover pieces off and added them to my Lego bucket. Love the flying bee, the DNA strand (spins), and carbon molecule (goes up & down), and all the other major symbols of science breakthroughs represented. symbols of science breakthroughs represented. Absolutely one of my favorite Lego sets.
This has to be my son’s top favorite build he’s done! All about STEM, including a rotating center for the DNA strand and a couple hidden spots to reveal! Absolute genius design. My son’s only request is that it came with all the scientists, engineers, and inventors as mini figures. That would have made this complete. He has it displayed on his bookmaker, alongside his mineral Lego build. Fantastic addition to the Lego collection!
A wonderful set and perfect for Women’s History Month! The finished build is dense packed full of history with a huge variety of disciplines represented! I love the functionality of the double helix and carbon atom. You can build a right-handed helix rather than the left-handed spiral in the instructions by putting the technic pieces in backwards. I wish Lego also included a Rosalind Franklin minifigure. One of my favourite details has to be the glow in the dark Radium tile! Looking forward to more STEM sets released in the future!!!
Such an original design and a set that is packed full of details. I read the comments about the DNA being wrong so had to check for myself and found that Z-DNA is left handed so the design is correct. It was a very interesting build although the bee was a little fiddly. I also really like the book design and will probably use that as a base to make another creation of a fairy tale or such like.
I bought this set because I am super into science, and that is what I have my degrees in, and while the set is super fun and is a great celebration of science... I was kind of disappointed. The build was short and kind of just felt "eh" for how much it cost. I still like it, still had fun, but I just think it was kind of smaller and shorter than I thought it would be because of the price.
As many reviewers have already mentioned, some things are not scientifically correct. Now personally I don’t find that a huge huge deal but I can understand why it would be for someone who is in that profession. Also noted was the build quality, man nothing stated together! The book kept breaking when I would add things, the bee was a nightmare too. I think overall it is a good set, and I hope more STEM sets are in the future. But the structural integrity of this was mid.
Customer service for my damaged item was total garbage. Never buying from Walmart again. Just awful.
