These are beautiful and I ain’t seen anything like this in a Lego! Not ever. Like I used to use Legos to make block houses and then there were fire truck sets but I never liked the little men with the faces painted on them. Just didn’t like them. Then in the 80s my buddy Bravo got the Millennium Falcon from Star Wars and that was amazing and yep I broke it when I knocked it over but he put it together again and then got a case for it so I couldn’t break it again. And now these snap-together insect Legos are like the Millennium Falcon all over again in terms of amazingness only not so vulnerable to getting knocked over and pieces going everywhere. If the wings or the legs could move it might be better but that’s just being picky. I like these here and they ain’t just for kids. They say for adults but they’re okay for kids, there’s nothin inappropriate going on or anything, just plain Lego fun with a hint of science. Good for grandkids.
Very nice set. Very colorful and realistic looking. The bug one was a little fun getting the wings and body to stay together. Very fun to put together.
This is a fantastic Lego set, it is fairly easy to assemble, some of the parts on the Insects are movable and it creates a nice view on the shelf. Kids can do this too if they are Lego lovers my son who is under 10 can build adult sets.
Bought this for my sons for Christmas as they are young adults and they fought over the three insects that needed to be put together. However, they love them all and so did I. What makes it better is that I happen to catch it during an awesome sale that Walmart was having before Christmas. We love love, love Legos!
I was lucky enough to get this on sale for my grandson's Christmas gift. He is 10yo and an absolute genius putting Legos together. I am on a limited income and they are usually so expensive that I can rarely buy a set as big as this one. Upon opening his gift he immediately wanted to start working on putting it together. I'd say Grandma did good this year?
Bought as Christmas gifts for 9yo son and nephew. They thought it was the coolest. Took them the rest of Christmas Day to put it all together and now proudly displayed in their rooms. Difficulty was enough to be a challenge but they were able to complete them without assistance.
Beautiful set. I bought it for my 13 year old as his first lego set since he bought the Harley Davidson five years back and only did half of it. Since each insect was sorted into it's on build, he was able to drip feed himself one build per day. The results are beautiful. The colors pop and he is very proud of it. The butterfly is especially beautiful, with the mantis coming in second. I recommend this set to everyone who is in to Legos, or anybody who loves animals. Some of the techniques are a little difficult, and it definitely had to be rebuilt once or twice due to a missed step, or a fragile bit (like the wing of the beetle) came off the main body, but I think that this set can be completed by anyone with a little patience. The 18 age rating makes no sense in my opionoin. Amazing set, 100% reccomend.
I bought these and built them with friends. Really fun to build side by side. Beautiful end result and fun build. Most of the time you are building the branches the insects sit on and not the actual insect so thats not as fun. Also the price may be a little high for what you get. However over all I'm extremely satisfied and hope Lego makes more builds like this! Note that the beetle and mantis can stand on their own legs or on the branch, while the butterfly can only be mounted on the branch. Ps. You get cute little ladybugs and a bee!
This was from a secondary seller through Walmart. Advertised as new. But box was in bad shape and had been opened. It appeared all the bags and instructions were intact, so I kept it. But I could not give it as a gift because of the condition.
This was suppose to be a Christmas gift but the box is tore up and caved in several spots.
