For how varied the prices of Lego sets can be this one strikes the perfect balance in terms of what you pay and what you get. You get a variety of different buildings connected by hooks, a creative way to build the depicted bridge and 4 unique minifigs to go along with it! The roofs of the ones that have them are not attached and just sit in place so you can see the internals and set your minifigs how you want in them. Perfectly paired with the Medieval Blacksmith and Medieval Town Square if you've got them.
Beautifully designed, every angle is joyous. It's very easy to add on to this your own builds. The colours are great, there is some fantastic parts usage here as well. The shape of the space is top tier, it really feels like a living, breathing environment. The minifigures are quite good although it would have made more sense for them to be half Vikings, half villagers, but just one village maiden would have tied the set together. I was hoping they'd get some new helmet moulds for the Vikings because they don't fit minifigures so well. It is reasonably priced and I would recommend it to anyone who likes story, and beauty
A beautiful set that is very well designed. While an extra figure would be welcomed, the overall cost is very justifiable - especially if combined with a GWP. It's also easy to modify. I used some pieces from my Pick a Brick wall to add a water fall.
My family sat down today to build our latest purchase, age from 11 and 13 up to older Adult. My first impression is its value for money compared with other lego builds and upon completion this set ticks the value for money box. Build enjoyment was high, lots of clever builds incorporated into this set, but follow the 245 page paper instruction manual closely. Some very ingenious uses of parts will amaze you while you build and very little repetition so you'll stay focused! Playable is great, easy access to all buildings and secret cave, just move your Viking ship up to the wharf ( not included but can be purchased separately). Future expansion can consist of a market place and a few more buildings but these I'll build late. As a summary this set is great value for money, excellent playable and an enjoyable set to build and display!
We have the 3 in 1 Drakkar and now the village .... we need more like this its really fun and a lot to combine with the Medieval BlackSmith and the Lion Castle
Great set! I bought it for my husband (not an option in step 2- which is just silly). He enjoyed building it! Missing two pieces: 4616711 and 6117976. We had the missing pieces in our supplies. But it was a first time ever we were missing pieces from a new Lego set
This is probably one of the best builds in recent memory. The details and playability is just excellent. We missed out on the Viking Ship, but my son and I were able to utilize the Goat Boat for playing. Some of the current CMFs also feel at home here. The price point is also excellent, everything was printed and no stickers were used!
Amazing build, intricate and detailed. My favourite so far.
I thought this kit was a fun and engaging build. However, as some others have noted, there is some significant color varience in the lighter pieces. I'm not sure if that happened when I was a kid, but it's slightly annoying to me as an adult. It's noticable even in fairly poor lighting
I really enjoyed building this Viking Village. I would have liked Lego to add 4 extra mini figures and perhaps 1 Viking ship to make the playing more fun and adventurous. Having bought the Viking Ship set I noticed that the proportions between the two sets are not the same. The scale of the ship appears to be much bigger than the Village itself, and one can notice that even on the watchtower, which can barely fit one mini figure. Overall, this Viking Village was a great experience to build but I would have preferred if Lego scaled it up a bit more and have it made a bigger set with a bigger watchtower and tower building, which should have been positioned a bit more farther away from the chieftain longhouse. Finally, the black ropes of the suspended bridge are too heavy on the set. A lighter brown colour would have been preferred. Perhaps Lego could expand the village with another set! That would be amazing!
