I haven't had this amount of fun in a long time building a Lego set, at no point during this build will it feel repetitive. The small details in this set are gorgeous but I really wish we had less stickers (there's around 60!) and more printed Lego pieces. There is a huge amount of playability within this set and it can easily be taken apart in sections but that does feel like it affects the structural integrity of the set which is important because I expect this is a display piece for a majority of people. No photos will ever do this set justice, it's so much more striking in person! Now Lego need to do the wise thing and release the Ninjago city docks and Ninjago city sets again so everyone can easily and affordably expand this masterpiece!
This set is great for someone who has a liking for ninjago like me I have over a 3k collection and for perfectly for a collector
This set by far has to be my FAVORITE set of all time due to the price for parts/dollar is awesome. The build itself was so masterfully designed and taken into consideration all of the details and so much more. Everyone should get a copy of this set before it disappears!
This was such a delight to build. Keep things interesting, engaging, and cleverly put together. Not even a small Ninjago fan...well that is until I saw this at a store inside a display. Then I did some research and discovered the other two builds similar to this and was heartbroken at their now retired value and cost. Here's to hoping there is a one-off city docks for this as there was to the original as well. Either way, for myself the enjoyment building this was second only to the Barracuda Bay set, and that is due to my nostalgia for the original ship that it can become.
This set is awesome! The overall build is amazing, and when you take it apart, there's millions of little details that only real fans appreciate. The minifigure selection is phenomenal as well, with multiple prominent characters from the series. Overall I would recommend this to someone who is looking for a challenge with a very rewarding result.
Very colorful. Lot of building time, definitely worth my money.
I am very much late to the Ninjago Lego series of builds and the City Gardens set fell under my radar when I started to move my interest over the last couple of years into modular builds - and man this is the mother of all modular builds. Putting it simply - I loved every minute of the build process and loved how the set with small scale stackable buildings came together. I have a lot of lego and this easily sits in my top 5 of all time builds and fights for top spot between this and Rivendell (epic!). Very Neo-Tokyo, futuristic cyberpunk styling ... is a really colourful and really fun set. The amount of detail that is crammed into each building is mind blowing. Was safe to say that following City Gardens I invested in the City Markets and now have both displayed together. Having been late to the Ninjago lego buildings party - I am not gutted for having missed out on older sets i.e., the Docks. If there is a downside to this - which is NOT REALLY a downside for me at all - then it is the space needed to display it. Once built this thing is huge! so make sure you have plenty of space available. Loved it, would buy and build again and now can't wait to see what follows the City Markets.
I would recommend this set because the value for money is good as well as the quality. However the build experience lacked when compared to the markets and workshops. It took me around 30+hours to build.( I did watch the show at the same time).I also don't like it when there are 2-3 bags for every 1 bag in the instructions because it took ages to sort through pieces. Overall this set is slightly worse than the markets but better than the workshops.Overall on its own this looks better but on a display the others look better.overall i think this set is good but a bit overhyped.
package was ship with just a label on the Lego box, box damaged in shipping giant hole in side of box, not good for sealed collection, great for if you don't value boxes.
I have built several other large Legos and enjoyed them.vWith this set, most of my time is spent looking for pieces that are not packed in the correct bag or are completely missing. I would return it, but it is almost half finished.
