I bought this LEGO Pokémon set as a birthday gift for my 12 year old nephew, and he was immediately excited when he opened it. He especially loves how Bulbasaur looks in this set. He was eager to put it together and spent a good amount of time building and playing with it after opening it. It gave him something fun to do rather than being a gift that was exciting for five minutes and then forgotten. He also plans to add the finished set to his LEGO display which is awesome. It works both as something he can actually build and play with and as a Pokémon-themed display piece afterward for his Pokemon themed room. As someone buying this as a gift rather than for myself, I was really happy with the reaction. A 12 year old can sometimes be harder to shop for but this was a clear hit with my nephew. Was a gift for a friend of my son's and it was a hit! Now my son want this set. Great gift for Pokemon LEGO fans.

These little pokemon sets are so adorable, I don't understand why people want moulds for these Pokémon, I would much rather build the Pokémon in small scale so I can have as much as possible while looking good on a shelf. The smart bricks for the Pokémon is genius as well, I do wish they made the noises the pokemon actually make though. But this is fun for kids and adults.

Bought this item for my child and helped build it. The Baulbasaur plant part pops off with any amount of light handling which results in my child not being able to play with it- which was a big part of why we bought it. I'm thinking about supergluing the piece together but hopefully lego will see this review and come up with a better solution.

I am disappointed because the smart brick was not included. Not only that, smart bricks are not sold separately. Apparently one has to purchase a very expensive set to get a smart brick. Not Walmart's fault, however.

This over priced smart play set has two problems. Problem one, no smart brick included. Problem two, the bulb falls off. I have one smart brick, and the set needs two. I had to download an app to use this app free set. Problem two. The bulb falls of. It's a toy to be played with, and it's not fit for purpose.
