I bought this set to do a family build night; with 4 droids, four instruction booklets and four family members building this was a perfect match. We had a blast and it wasn't too much of a challenge for the least experienced builder while still being a fun build for our most experienced builder.
What a great little build! I loved every second of it! I love the ease of taking the droids apart to accessorise them! My favourite accessory is the stetson, Chopper looks even cheekier with that on!
I bought this to build and play with my niece and nephews. There's a separate instruction booklet for each droid, therefore one for each kid (or grown-up). AWESOME!! We had a blast building and swapping accessories. I highly recommend this set.
I wasn't sure how I would feel about this set at first. I one hundred percent bout this because of the exclusive minifigure. Not a fan of including a collectable in a play set, but it is what it is. When I opened up the box, I noticed every dorid had its own manual. I thought that was awesome of Lego considering this is a play set. I do have to admit I enjoyed building these dorids and used every accessory available.
To be perfectly honest, I purchased this set for the Leia minifig, who had an important role to fulfill in my Star Wars diorama. I figured I might simply use the Droid builds for parts. However, once I got my hands on it; I realized how much fun the Droids were going to be, and they were. The interchangeable nature works beautifully as advertised, and the goofy parts are just plain fun. I have them displayed together proudly on a shelf, with the aforementioned goofy parts in a bowl for would be designer passersby. Oh; and yes, Lola is awesome!
A fun little set, brilliant lil builds. Definitely overpriced but was more reasonable on sale, the fact it lacked the minifigs to go along with the builds is a huge missed opportunity tho.
Perfect gift for an upcoming fan. Fun to build all the versions and as fun to play with. As an older builder I am more used to the price structure for an iconic brand even though it can be challenging. Big 4-6 fan…
I think Lego Star Wars is amazing and have loved it for 25 years. I don't mind a little silly now and again so I definitely see the good in this set. When I set aside the extra parts like the glasses and hats and duck I love this set. So that's what I did. I built it to 100% then I bagged the silly parts and displayed the droids in their pure form. R2 and Chopper and fantastic and the other two droids are cool too.
A bit pointless really, I only really wanted the mini droid to complete the set of them. Have built the droids and displayed them but left the extras bags sealed as I don't see why they would wear hats and glasses etc.
I opened the box. Missing 3 bags. Bag for minifig was in the box, but no 25th anniversary fig was in the bag.
