Upon seeing this for the first time, I was blown away with the size and weight of the box, It was a huge experience unboxing. Once you start building the structural engineering in this build is so impressive, a lot of time went into making this set. The finished product looks so high quality you have to remind yourself that, "yes this is lego".
I purchased the set a number of years ago but had never got round to building it. I came across a company that supply bespoke coffee tables specifically made for displaying this set. I bought one and this gave me the inspiration to finally get on and build it. It took my son and me several days each doing a bag a day. The instruction book is excellent, and easy to follow. The intricacies of the build are amazing, and the completed set is incredible. It is only when complete that you truly appreciate the sheer scale of the set. I have also installed a lighting kit which enhances the whole experience.
I've wanted this set since i was a kid. Getting this and placing the last piece completed a goal i wanted to achieve for years. Besides that build experience was good, play features were good and figure selection had good picks, but i think there needed to be a bit more figs and C-3PO's leg needed dual-moulding. Besides the price, I'd 100% recommend this set if you have the money.
Price was a little higher than normal but much cheaper than other places considering the products availability.
Tiny pieces are kinda hard for me I have fat little fingers but my son is working on it with me and I’m enjoying the time I spending with him
As I open the boxes to start to build, nowhere on the 4 boxes inside or in the book dose it says that you should go box by box as all the boxes are full of different numbered bags. It doesn’t tell you what box first or anything. I’m learning this the hard way as I took all the bags out and put them in numbered groups thinking it would be like any other Lego set I’ve built, but no. I’ve now had to try and separate all the prices into groups and do it the hard way. Just a big tip before dumping everything out and spending hours n hours trying to figure everything out. But besides that I look forward to actually starting the build and having it done
This is a beautiful piece of engineering. However there are several sections, particularly the left rear, that are so flimsily attached to the main structure that they fall off at the slightest touch. Several times during the build sections would simply fall off from jostling of the model. It is nearly impossible to move this without significant pieces falling off, and impossible to play with any meaningful fashion. After having put together some other very large Lego sets, I am very disappointed that I will never be able to pick this one up to enjoy. Also, no R2D2???
This was a fun but stressful build. Not because of the size of this piece but how many pieces were missing. I could understand a piece or two being gone but multiple pieces missing is ridiculous, especially for the price. Luckily the pieces missing were mainly internal but still a little disappointing. But my boyfriend loves it!
I received this kit as a Valentines gift from my husband. This was not my first kit but if it had been, I likely would not have gotten any more. The first set of bags was missing a piece, this was workable as I could pull from another bag and request the replacement. But then in the 4th set, a whole bag was missing! And still a couple more in the 5th bags. Then again in the 9th bag, which is where I still am while I wait for yet another replacement part. The time it took to get the missing 4th bag was crazy, over 3 months! I should be done with this build, not stuck halfway through! I have never had such a tremendous issue with missing parts as I am experiencing with this very expensive kit. As I said before, if I had started collecting with this kit, it would have also been the last.
Bought this product thinking at the price it would be a good product. Started building and when I got to package 6 I found that there was a lot of parts missing. Upon checking packages 9 all the missing parts were there. Also packages 6 had parts for 9. Having sorted this out , continued building until I got to package 31 and 11 parts were missing. Had to stop at this point and request the required parts. Still waiting. Dissatisfied after having spent so much money and have finished up with nothing but problems.
