First, this isn't a toy for your child to move about with reckless abandon let alone build. In my opinion this kit is purely iconic and a build for a pure, older Star Wars enthusiast. So to begin make certain when putting the pieces (legos) in place you have the orientation correct otherwise you'll be taking the pieces apart which is not your goal by any means. Make certain when backtracking to fix a mistake you don't disorient yourself in putting pieces back together and ultimately loosing your place. It goes really without saying... but make certain the pieces are connected together tight. You need good lighting and large smooth surface. My wife is the lego builder. I help on occasion. There were a couple occasions with this build. My wife has built over fifty Star Wars Legos she particularly liked the tracks and the design of this build. We do have a lot of saved boxes and more to come.
Child lover it. Great price from Walmart. Available when everyone else was sold out, and delivered it with no issues. That is more than I can say for the items I am still waiting on from Amazon.
bought this product at the being on saturdad and came Thursday that week, really a great set, lots of cool stuff right from the movie too, and all the mini figures are awesome
This is the best lego set I've ever built. hands down. The level of detail is amazing. Unlike many of the large piece count "collector" sets, this is actually a play set that is designed to be played with an enjoyed. It has all the features you could want. Detail, clear instructions, stable design, challenge and functionality. A must for die hard Star Wars fans and a perfect gift for the Lego enthusiast in your family. Hours of fun building result is a beautiful recreation of the mighty Sand Crawler.
Although this set is expensive, It is one of the best well-designed sets in the Star Wars series. It was a fun set to piece together, and the crawler is bigger than what I had imagined. I got this set because Episode IV A New Hope is my favorite Star Wars film (and Empire Strikes Back a very close second). With almost 3,300 lego pieces, I took my time to follow the instructions, which were outstanding and clear. I still made some mistakes along the way, which fortunately I caught early on and were easily corrected. I found the level of difficulty about right; it was not too difficult, yet I had to double and triple check some building sequences and make a couple of corrections to my build. There are 38 x 8 individual links for the crawler's tracks, and that took some time putting together. Overall, I really enjoyed working on this set. The Sandcrawler is an iconic piece of Star Wars. I love this Lego set! It has so much fun factor and you get several cool Star Wars mini-figures. I hope Walmart continues to offer current and future Star Wars sets at competitive prices. This set is definitely the one to get for anyone who loves Legos and Star Wars.
HUge, fun to play with and challenging to build.
AWESOME!! I've wanting this for a long time, finally bought the price was right!!
My son loved it.
Love the Lego but when got it and started putting it together a bunch of the pieces were breaking down to being stored somewhere very hot making the plastic pieces brittle. Also this Lego is a retired set so pieces are going to be very hard to get.
If you are buying this to build then its fine. But if you are a collector that cares about the condition of the box then I would buy somewhere else. This is the 4th large set I have purchased from Walmart and haven't received a perfect box yet.
