I was hesitant to purchase this set because it seemed so simple and we have tons of other Star Wars sets. However, I overlooked the fact that the simplicity leads to better playability. My 4-year-old son loves to build Legos and builds more complicated ones, but he loves this one. He can crash the TIE fighter and break it without us yelling at him. It is so simple to rebuild that he is back flying in no time. As a collector, I like that the rebel pilot is different than previous ones and I like the printed Death Star piece.
Good Build, affordable, appropiate for younger Lego builders.
My 8yo son loves it. It'd bigger than I expected, which is great!
Birthday gift. They were a hit!
My grandson asked for this for Christmas. Best price around, beat Amazon by a lot.
Loved this. Vet easy to build and good to play with.
I bought this set to to have a cozy star wars lego day. I have the Tie fighter microfighter and I found that was a lot more fun to build and have more hinges and things to play with, tho the age recommendation of the microfighter model is 8-12 rather than 4+ of this set. I love the death star model piece tho. It's not a sticker which makes me very happy. Nice for a child, maybe not so nice for picky adults ;)
I wish that the tie fighter looked a bit more like a tie fighter but eh. The figures and the little rebel... thing was cool.
Overly easy, I expected something more complex and intricate from Lego. I understand that Star Wars is starting to gear towards a new audience, in an attempt to brighten it's future, but I just was looking for more.
I have to say that this has to be one of the most disappointing Star Wars Lego sets EVER made. Yes it looks good, BUT there are way too many large pieces. The cockpit and wings have three massive parts, that in any other set would probably consisted on about 40 plus pieces. I cannot help but feel that this set is aimed at the youngest of youngest builders that would not swallow and choke on a piece of lego. It is a shame as the design, size and look is amazing. The figures are great. It just looks like a lazy kids lego set that want the model almost pre-made for them. You will not be able to use the pieces for many of your own creative designs... and this is the reason I feel, personally, that Lego have let all of its fans down.
