The emperor would be proud

Navyman914 April 14, 2018

I have wanted an imperial tie fighter for some time now and was about to purchase the version from 2012 when I heard this one was coming out and decided to wait. It did not disappoint. The only other tie I have is Darth Vader's tie advanced from 2009 and although I really enjoy it, the connection from the wings to the body is flimsy and they tend to fall off. That is not the case on this tie as the connection from the wings to the body is very sturdy. Overall it is fantastic! The only complaint I have is that the missles are red instead of green that the imperial ties had and is even pictured shooting on the box, especially since LEGO has used green missles in previous sets (i.e. Obi Wan's jedi interceptor) and would be an easy swap.

Amazing!

meerkat2 May 28, 2018

It's strong, sturdy, well built... The Tie looks great on display as well as playing well. There is plenty of room inside the cockpit and i particularly love the ability to hang up the figures guns, as it gives more room for the figure and so you don't lose the weapons all over your house. Mini-figures: Han Solo - brilliant to get him as a mud trooper, with lots of good printing on torso, legs and cape. Tobias Beckett - Amazing figure, really stands out. Minban Trooper - Nice new helmet mold and print, good print on torso. Tie pilot - The same as the others, would have been nice to have arm printing. Overall, the set is good for play and display, but it would be even better if the wing pattern was on the inside as well as outside, and if Lego did a dual molded spring-loaded dart with red on the end and green as the main color.

Go Green!

XeonsStargazer August 2, 2018

This TIE fighter is an amazing build! The figures are well printed, useful, and collectible. The ease of the build and attachments of the wing segments is good too. There is only on issue. The spring loaded shooters have red bolts in them, but the TIE fighter should shoot green ones. It even has green graphics on the box! Same issue with Kylo Ren's TIE Silencer. The designers should keep these sorts of things in mind. Thankfully, I have the green bolts from the newest Imperial Star Destroyer, which look far superior! Has room for improvement, but still quite good!

tie fighter

guzzy May 12, 2018

if you are wondering if this is a normal original trilogy tie even though its from the new movie, it is. it is a little overpriced in my opinion, but a very accurate model. the funny angled pieces look a little sharp. finally, the shooters look good without customization, from the front at least. this set required no customization to meet my strict movie accuracy wants. the tie pilot is original trilogy accurate too. I am not super stoked about the other three minifigs because I haven't seen the movie yet, but they do look cool. go and get it!

Awesome!!!

Mittyman April 14, 2018

First standard Imperial TIE fighter released for a while and what a beauty! It's a really solid build where you don't feel the wings are going to drop off. Design makes clever use of several differant sloping pieces to make up the round shape of the cockpit. On top of awesome the build the minifigs are excellent. Great characters from the new Solo: A Star Wars Story movie with amazing prints which will give younger uses many hours of fun. The only downsize is the price which is slightly higher than I would expect for the piece count but then the Star Wars licence doesn't come cheap.

Great Reboot

NateALegoMan April 27, 2018

I sold off my original trilogy trench run set mostly because the blue and black colors which never were great and the fragility of the original set. This new set really captures the colors and the looks far better. It is built similar to the First Order Tie Fighter. Which I also have and LOVE. Therefore it is really sturdy and has very good playability. The four minifigs are nice. This is a great reboot set of the original tie design. I am super happy with it. I would recommend it to anyone who loves star wars.

Absolutely No Stickers

epettijo May 24, 2018

Yep, not a single one. This set has four great printed pieces and four great minfigures. This was fun to put together and I was very surprised to see how stable this build is. It is very playable. You can handle it without piece wobbling or falling off. I really like that there were not stickers and I hope that LEGO does more of this in the future with sets that are a more expensive. The prints really add to the sets that are left built and they prints will outlast the stickers. Over all great set and well worth the price.

IMPERIAL TIE FIGHTER!!!

CaptainJack April 19, 2018

This is my first TIE fighter, and I was super excited to get it when it released a week ago. The minifigures are great, although there's nothing to compare them to until the Solo movie releases. Either way, the TIE pilot's printing is phenomenal, compared to the 2010 version that I had before. The Mimban stormtrooper is nice as well, although the helmet is a duller gray than LEGO usually uses, giving it the impression of being fake LEGO. Fortunately that's not the case, and the minifigures - especially those awesome capes - are exceptionally detailed. (furthermore, a change of Han Solo's face and you have an incredible looking Mimban AT-ST driver!!) As for the TIE itself, there's not enough good to be said about this model. The wings are incredibly sturdy - not like the old Darth Vader's TIE Advanced from 2009 - and have great detailing, going so far as to incorporate roller skates onto the wing! The TIE pilot is very secure in the cockpit due to a 1x1 clip, and the cockpit view screen is very nice as well, and is also seen on Yoda's Starfighter as well as a couple other TIE variants. The color scheme is spot-on as well, although I'd like a little more black around the cockpit area. When building the wing struts, I was amazed at how I was building on all four sides, not just up and down. The new odd pointy-pieces on the wing struts add a tapering effect to the cockpit I really enjoy. The cockpit itself is very nicely rounded out. I'm also very glad that there are NO STICKERS in this set, a huge bonus! It is also very sturdy and will not tip over or collapse at all. My only complaints is that, when carrying the TIE, the printed dish on top twists, throwing the alignment of the details off, but not a huge deal. The bigger deal is that, although my hands are huge, I feel like most people would have trouble (as I did) holding the fighter and reaching in between the wings to fire the lasers. It's a tight fit for me, and when I do manage to squeeze off a shot my alignment with my target is usually messed up by then. Other than that, amazing set that I'd buy a few more of if I had the money and space to display them! (space pun not intended) Overall...: Price: 18/20 Pieces: 20/20 Minifigures: 20/20 Size/Durability: 19/20 Weight: 20/20 Total: 97/100 Totally worth it!!! :D

Solid Model!

TheBricksEngineer December 24, 2018

This model perfectly captures the TIE Fighter look from the movies. I did find some building techniques and pieces interestingthroughout the process. The body is one solid piece hard as rock, wings are attached very securely. A very sturdy model indeed for swooshing. I wasn't too focused on the minifigures as I was more invested on the ship itself, but I was surprised at how amazing the minifigures are, with the Mimban Stormtrooper being my favourite. I recommend getting this along with the 75218 X-Wing Starfighter as they are a perfect match made for each other.

Sturdy toy!

Paythebrick August 1, 2019

A small lego set but fun, sturdy and beautiful. Great value for the money. Looking great as dekoration. Plus the kids can play with it without it breaking and giving me a heart attack.
