[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] So exited to start with building. And it's 18+ ,finally more fun with Lego for adult fans. With 1931 pieces inside, means hours of goed fun,and finally you get a piece of Star Wars for yourself. I love it and i recommend it ❤️
What a build from start to finish! So much detail and overall just a satisfying build! The figure/figures were a great addition to the set! The angle it sits at is just menacing and something you would see straight for the original trilogy. Would highly recommend not just to STAR WARS fans but to any Lego enthusiasts!
I have been waiting impatiently for this set to be released ever since I heard the rumours. I have wanted a UCS Tie Interceptor ever since my friend showed me his from 2001. This set was a lot of fun to build. It is extremely detailed and is also very sturdy. I like that the fact plate was printed instead of a sticker. I do wish they would've done the same for the computers in the cockpit. Triangular stickers are a little challenging to stick on perfectly. The biggest flaw with this set would have to be the repetition. It is a symmetrical starship. Overall, I definitely recommend this set to any Star Wars fan. Especially if you also have the UCS Tie Fighter and UCS Vader's Tie Advanced.
I remember spending countless hours looking at the promo pictures of the first UCS Interceptor and X-Wing as kid, but never got them. So I really couldn't miss the chance with their latest iteration. The fact that both have been designed by the same person that designed the original really adds to the collector value for me. I have to admit, the Interceptor greatly exceeded my expectations and it's my favourite of the two. The proportions are very close to the actual ship, and it has some very interesting building techniques. It's also much sturdier than 75355. My only complaint is the plaque. On one hand I like the fact it's printed and not a sticker, but the gloss surface looks odd and I prefer the satin/matte finish used on the X-Wing. Overall it's one of the best UCS I own and I highly recommend this set!
This is by far the best kit I have got. Amazing work. So much detail and easy to follow. Everything, from unboxing to building was just perfect. Everyone needs this for their collection. Amazing work lego. Simply brilliant!!
Great experience with some headaches here and there. It can be frustrating to attach some pieces as others fall off in the process especially in tight spots. My manual was also missing pages which was unfortunate. Still the Tie pilot with the arm printing is the real highlight and over all feel of the set is sold. My biggest disappointment is not being able to the interior after applying all those stickers. It looks really cool with all the screens but it's a missed opportunity visually. Lego did their best to round out the center position but it misses the mark a bit on the front side panels.
This was a set that I wanted since it came out, and I finally did pick it up on February of this year. I very much enjoyed the build of this set, and the use of different colours that go into the inner structure as well! It is also very nice that we get a printed plague, as well as a mouse droid and exclusive pilot minifig. The attention to detail on the area behind the wings is very cool, as well as the use of shovel pieces at the front. Though there are many plusses to this set, there are sadly some flaws too. My main issue with this set is how fragile it is. I have had it break and fall over many times since finishing the build, and even when I have picked it up from the cockpit, I have had side panels fall off a lot! I also picked up the retired UCS Tie Fighter from 2015 to compare it with, and found that the overall building techniques and durability of that set are far superior to this one. However that being said, the design and smoothness of the cockpit for this set is an improvement compared to the blocky looking exterior of the retired 2015 set. Overall, I would recommend this set to anyone that is a fan of the original trilogy, and if you do own the 2023 UCS X Wing, this one pairs very nicely with that!
Build from start to finish is great. Detail in the main cockpit is outstanding, the way all the pieces and elements come together on the wing supports and the wing themselves are fantastic. It's a very symmetrical shape so there's a a bit of repetitive building but the overall feeling of finishing that last wing snap is a great one. A little fragile to hold and display as there's a lot of fiddly parts that give the build texture and look but nothing major.
Per the usual UCS licence fee the price isn't good but hey, that's the norm for SW stuff. The Interceptor though, my goodness it looks amazing. The build took me about 6 hours and sadly the 4 wings took up about half the bag count. The best part was building the pod section. I have a gripe though. The bottom 2 wings are built identically and so are the gribbling so when you attach them they're not mirrored so I had to reverse built some parts. The exact same for the targeting system, otherwise the barrels would look weird. And back to the wings, the instructions ask you to build them one at a time and attach to the pod as it sits on the stand, the causes some balance issues so I waited to build 2 wings at a time to avoid that. To be honest, I like it but probably should have waited for a deal.
Got the set, bag 2 had a missing 1 by 2 dark grey piece which I requested another piece and recieved after about 3 weeks, I'm at bag 8 now and I have another 2 missing pieces go on page 190 the opposite light gray sloping 1 by 2 pieces This is really annoying and ill probably have to wait another 3 weeks to recieve the missing pieces Instead of the actual pieces I've been given 1 random cylinder and 2 not cut 1 by 2 light grey slopes Lego what has happened here
