LEGO Stranger Things The Upside Down 75810 Byers' House Model Building Set

This is only my second build. My first was Central Perk which I thoroughly enjoyed. As soon as I saw this, I had to have it as I LOVE the show. Being such a newbie, I was shocked and excited by the size of the box when it arrived. I'd spend a couple of hours at night when all the kids were in bed building it while watching our shows. I thought the monotony of the repetitive colours would make it harder, but it was so awesome. I'm honestly surprised by the stability of it when completed. Whilst it was a little tricky joking the worlds at the end, and had me sweating with anxiety, I'm absolutely thrilled with the final result.

This set has so much detail. It's great fun to put together and the minifigures really reflect the characters from the show. My only wish is that Eleven had a second face option, as the one she has just looks so grumpy. She does smile during the show, so not sure why we only have one expression. I was slightly worried that the completed set might be fragile and unstable having read some other reviews, but the completed set is actually very sturdy and I have moved it around quite a bit without any issues. If you love Stranger Things then I highly recommend this set. And even if you don't, it's still a great build.

This is definitely one of the coolest sets I've ever built. I love how symmetrical the upper and lower houses are to each other. Although I usually complain about excessive repetition, this set is definitely an exception. I love how detailed this set is. I give props to its designer. Overall, I really enjoyed building this one.

This Lego set truly deserves to be the Toy Of The Year Awards 2020 Winner! The Upside Down was one of my favorites because I liked the design a lot, and the Stranger Things TV series. If you haven't watched the series yet, I still recommend getting The Upside Down as it is an amazing, brilliant design and fun to build. All my family members agreed that this set would be interesting to build. As an AFOL newbie - mostly Creator Expert and Ideas themes, I bought quite a few sets of the previous years. Reading some negative comments of some people kept me from building The Stranger Things, but I finally decided to build it. I have now successfully completed building the amazing Stranger Things The Upside Down. It can be flipped up and down many times, and nothing falls apart. Make sure to hold onto the two roofs when flipping, and not the tree 8-) I enjoyed every moment of the build, from start to finish. The Upside Down is a beautiful design with a lot of details and I love them all, especially the new mini figure in every bag number. Thank you to the The Stranger Things designer and hopefully there are more amazing sets like this coming.

I didn't really buy this set for me, more for my wife. The whole family got involved which was super fun. Build teams ( Lego callers & Builders) Even my teenage daughter got in on it, that's a major win! I can see how some would have issues, but we always make sure things snap into place well. We personally didn't have any issues, and as an extra bonus, purchased the aftermarket light set. WoW!! Amazing display piece!

As an AFOL I have built up a large collection over the years and cannot say that I have had a problem with any of the sets apart from the most recent camper van. The Stranger Things set is changeling, but that is the fun of the build with Lego sets. The more changeling and the more parts, the better. However, I cannot say that there is a fault with this set other than builder error. All the pieces fitted tightly together and there were no gaps on any of the pillars. The set was solid and there were no loss of pieces when the two halves were joined together. Lego instructions can be daunting sometimes but I find looking through them first helps. All of my sets are displayed in cabinets and every now and again I will move these around and other than the occasional piece popping off, I have not had one fall apart, especially this set. Lego sets will become more and more changeling, and like with any model building, if you don't follow the instructions to the tee, it isn't going to fit together as it should.

After reading some of the reviews on this website (Houses not staying together ) I took a more careful approach to the construction. Overall the built was amazing!! But make sure that the two houses stay well attached BEFORE putting on the trees. The left trees set and the right trees set are a mirror image to each other (you have the explanation only for one set of trees) so you need to adjust the other set of trees accordingly. if the trees set does not stand on its own then you made a mistake.

My wife wanted to know what I wanted for my birthday. I asked for a Lego set and she got me this, which automatically makes it one of my favorites since it's from her. But the build alone was wonderful. I thought it could possibly get a little tedious almost doing the same build twice, but the differences made it all so much fun. The details are great, unique building techniques, the inside is gorgeous but it's really the outside exterior that gets most of my attention. I'm a big modular building fan so when they look good like that from the outside AND the in, oh mama, I'm just so happy with this set. It looks like art. Also, take your time building it. I somehow missed a step or two or put things in the wrong place towards the end but I caught my mistake before trying to stand it up. Do it right and it will be sturdy as can be. I had it atop my desk, which I bump into often, and it never even wobbled. Very impressive architecture! The Barb posters are a hilarious, dark touch. And the Dustin minifigure is the cutest one EVER. I honestly can't think of anything to nitpick about with this build. Don't be a mouthbreather, get it!

Justin Ramsden has done incredible job designing this set. The cool about lego is transcends Ive seen many non lego fans marvel about this cool set. The idea of flipping it to the right side up or upside is a cool concept as well being able to display the set apart. You can't fault the set for design its brilliant has lot attention to detail with stickers and prop pieces. You can really see the love the designers put into the set. My one gripe with the set is the same others have mentioned durability. The roof comes away from the posts and some of the main structure separates from the floor, just above the front doors and starts to bow. I rebuilt the set all seems fine now so far, but i have seen this issue with many sets that have reviewed on social media. My personal feelings is the structure should of been extra stud wide. The other issue is attaching the ball joints requires a lot force more force the a single stud wide can support which may account for many people issues with this set. However its not a deal barker the set is too good for any stranger things fan miss out on. i love the set and all its Easter eggs it doesn't disappoint.

This is a fun build, with great detail and story telling. My only minor gripe which is often the case with many sets is the somewhat lazy symmetry. The trees on either side are identical builds which is a shame. There are opportunities for differences in the top and bottom half builds that are missed making the second half just a repeat of the first. It's still a great display piece and one of my favourites but some opportunities missed.
