LEGO Super Mario Chain Chomp Jungle Encounter Expansion Set 71381; Collectible Toy for Kids (160 Pieces)

There is the yellow and orange creature (Bramball) that I didn't encounter when I was younger, but I do recognize the Chain Chomp! This famous dog-prison ball that sleeps until you get too close and who pulls its chain while barking! How many times have I jumped when that happened!? Every single time! The funny thing is that my 3 year old son instantly liked the Chain Chomp, for him it's a dog with a leash (not a chain) in the Super Mario universe! He absolutely wanted to put its white brick teeth on it. He couldn't wait to play with it and he found the waiting time long (it took me 50 minutes to build the 160 pieces). As for the bricks, I really liked the soft thorny vine; it was the first time I'd ever come across it. As with many Super Mario sets, what I appreciate the most is the inventiveness that allows us to play with the constructed set. The principle of the two superimposed seesaws works perfectly. We all know that Chain Chomp is a ball that should be round, but because it isn't, it reveals its barcode as soon as you manage to flip it over. There's also something else that I really liked about Chain Chomp, which is a reflection of the video game : Super Mario loses a life as soon as the chained Chomp closes its jaw on him, this principle has also become LEGO with the red color of its tongue! I tip my hat to the design and R&D team because without adding anything, the color red is the softened equivalent of losing a life. If I had to add a single brick, it would be on top of the Chain Chomp, it would be smooth. This is also the opinion of my son who asked me why the holes on the top.

I love playing with this set with my Lego Mario figure I love defeating chainchomp with a star power up and I also love making chainchomp bark it's really cute!!

Product was as described! Grandson loves it! Only problem was it was shipped in a bubble wrap envelope and the box was damaged ! Contents were fine but wouldnt work for toy collectors !

The build was easy and there is a feature that allows you to make the Chain Chomp jump out as it would in the video game. Needless to say, he's having a great time with it. Great set!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My son was so excited when he received chain chomp jungle expansion kit that he was able to add to his Super Mario Starter course. He loves collecting legos and especially loves this one because it's a super Mario version. The set was easy to put together and was loads of fun to play with. He's already talking about saving his money to buy the next expansion kit. This is also a great family project and would make a great gift.

The build is pretty easy and I loved watching them use their creative minds to build different things. They are also huge fans of Mario so that was a plus.

This set was very easy to put together with the help of the lego Mario app. Very easy instructions that shows where each piece goes. The colors and durability of the legos themselves are top notch excellent quality. We all enjoy this set that we have added to our lego Mario starter course set. I definitely recommend this set for loads of fun.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I absolutely love this expansion set which only builds on my love for this whole lego system set branded with Mario. Typically my children's attention span with building lego sets is about as long as it takes to build the set. With the Mario set, they build and then use their imaginations while playing a video game that doesn't involve a blue light screen. I am really motivated to play with them as well, as I enjoy playing Mario games as well. It is really neat to see Chain Chomp and Bramball as a part of their new lego set when they've recently played this game on their Nintendo Switch. They pretend to jump on him and defeat him and subvert his attacks brings them great joy as well. So many of children's motor skills are built up in using these toys that it is something that I feel good about buying for them. I cannot say enough good things about the Lego Mario set and in turn, this expansion set!

Having 5 kids all fight over it made me realize we needed more and I got other lego Mario sets to go with it. We now have a huge display going. Small pieces mean no small kids of course but my kids ranging from 7 to 12 all love it and play daily.
