Added 2 large Power Up motors and Hub to the Porsche, to fit the motor under the engine you will need to raise the engine by one hole. There is plenty of room in the engine bay to do this, also if you want the engine to turn with the wheels you will need to replace the 12 tooth bevel gear with a 28 tooth bevel gear, element #6259270. If you place the 2 large motors on ports A & B of the Hub you can use the Control+ app to control the car, choose the RC Buggy from the list of vehicles otherwise use the Power Up App to write your own program to control the car.
I love this set, building it has the sense of participation in hardcore construction. The version I had did not have numbered bags, so to get started most need to be opened. It's awesome to sit and study all the parts knowing what's going to be at the other end - it really shows how much work goes into the design. This car looks awesome when built, I have built 3 Lego cars now at this scale and they are never the same twice….. This would be cool if it came with a Lego display stand added…..
The box itself is clearly not the same as the authentic version of this. However after assembly, I am convinced that the pieces are legit and of great quality. Very happy with the product
This was the first set I have had for years. After helping the kids with theirs it sparked the need to try. Brilliant detail, couple of mistakes along the way but easily rectified. Can't wait for the next!
As a Porsche enthusiast, this was such an enjoyable build. I hadn't built a large Technic set for years and was seriously impressed with the quality, detail, technicality, and function of this car. I enjoyed every minute of constructing this iconic car and love admiring it every time I walk past it on display, the level of detail in this model is very impressive, especially the highly detailed stickers which add character and make it as real as possible. The rear differential, 6 cylinder boxer engine, steering setup and suspension mechanisms were a joy to put together and appreciate these more complex working parts. Highly recommend for any car enthusiast, looks awesome on display!
I was concerned by reviews concerning the lack of numbered bags and was nearly put off from purchasing this model. That would have been a big mistake! I only started modelling in lockdown and have so far completed several Star Wars helmets, the Fiat & Vespa - all look amazing! I am now building a supercar collection and started with the Porsche (before I move to tackling the Lamborghini and Ferrari). I have kept all parts in their bags and whilst initial progress was much slower than previous sets whilst getting used to what parts were in which bags you quickly get familiar and find most pieces with little trouble. Indeed I am actually finding the additional challenge very rewarding - it takes a bit longer which is good (I have to pace myself anyway to prevent me completing sets too quickly) and I suspect numbered bags may seem too easy after this. Admittedly I'm not far into the build (step 120 of 504) but the lack of numbered bags is already no problem and it should get easier still as the number of pieces remaining reduces. So if like me you have concerns then I'd recommend you just go ahead and buy/try - it's already a fabulous build and I can't wait to complete and move on to the larger sets.
My dad bought this for me about 5 years ago. The building experience was very fun because i have never built that large of a set. The back hood goes up and than you can see the V6 engine. The steering wheel works and the frunk opens. The parts remain in great condition even after all those years. Oh yea even the doors open and it has windshield wipers. Shame to see it geting retired. Would definetly buy another set like this one.
This is a strange build as bags don't have numbers so it's an open all bags and search for pieces build! No prior warning before purchase. This was a major change for me as all other builds have had numbered bags. I was anxious at first but it worked ok. Would also say the build pictures in the book are not great a lot of guess work where to place pieces.
Bags aren't numbered… so you spend as much time looking for parts as you do building… and the pieces in the bags aren't organized in any discernible pattern, at least none that I cracked. It's a frustrating build experience. And because the bags aren't numbered there's no natural breaks in the build… and you're essentially left with open bags all over until you finish the whole assembly!
I'm very disappointed in this purchase. I received a cheap, knock off version of a Lego Technic that was advertised. The box was badly damaged and several words were misspelled like "Technie" instead of "Technic" ... Porschc Mobii, and Michelim. Needless to say I will be returning this item.
