LEGO The Lord of the Rings 9474 The Battle of Helm's Deep (Discontinued by manufacturer)

This is my grandson's #1 gift request for Christmas. It was out of stock at the online Lego store. It was also out of stock in most local stores. I did find it at various online sites. Price points varied greatly. Walmart online was offering it at the best price and with free shipping. It arrived within a few days and in perfect condition. Now that I've actually seen it, I can see why it's such a popular item. It's perfect for a Lord of the Rings fan of any age!

Lego sets are never a low cost item but this set is worth every penny to a true Lord of the Rings fan. It took a long time for my 5 year old son to put together, but he had a lot of fun in the process. It comes in 7 separate bags with easy to understand instructions. My son loves blowing up the wall. We added on the Uruk-hai Army set to increase the enjoyment and to construct a better battle scene.

Purchased as a gift for a 8-yr old boy, from his "wish list". His dad offered assemble/instructional assistance, but since it's a holiday gift...not sure on the skill level, etc. cannot give a full review outside of value.

I always feel like the end result should be larger. Bought this as a Christmas gift, so I'm not sure about the actual size yet. Make sure you buy it on sale & Walmart always has the lowest prices. When they gotta' have Legos, Walmart is the obvious answer.
