this is a great project, easy for beginners to embroidery! And it truly could be finished in a weekend. I really like that the fabric came with the edges already hemmed.

the only problem I had with this kit is that only a normal sewing needle is included, the eye of the needle isn't big enough to thread 6 strands through. if you buy this kit, be sure to buy embroidery needles, to save your sanity.

The needle provided was way too small to accept thread and a threader in the kit would be nice.

this item comes with one needle that does not have a large enough eye to accomodate more than 4 strands, while some of the stitches require 6 strands. cannot complete project without buying more needles

The material rips easily, I didn't have luck finishing this

I'm a novice and have only completed a few simpler kits prior to this (Dimensions brand, also at Walmart). I loved the design of this one and thought it would be more challenging. That was true, but not in the way I assumed. As others have noted, the needle is too thin and the fabric is too tightly woven, and those together make for a very difficult, slow process. I used a needle from a previous kit and it helped (along with a rubber thimble as this was really hurting my fingers to pull the needle through). But the fabric keeps going slack, which I'm not sure if that's due to the fabric or a faulty hoop but altogether it's not with the effort. I'm going to pick up a new hoop and hopefully that makes it easier to finish, but I don't intend to buy from this brand again.

I was disspointed in the weight/thickness of the fabric. Also the needle privided is inadequate. If you follow the directions and use the “6 strand floss” there is no way you can use that needle, the eye is simply too small. Also the chart could use more details for ease of use. I've completed maybe 15 kits the last few years and this one did not impress me.
